Chapter 2991: I Have a Very Regular Routine

Yu Liuli was inexplicably attacked, leaving her in a foul mood. Her face was tense as she pondered who could have wanted her dead.

Ning Shu yawned. “Since the assassins are gone, I’m going back to sleep.”

“No way.” Yu Liuli stopped Ning Shu.

Ning Shu raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”

“You’ll stay with me. There’s a chance the assassins might come back,” Yu Liuli said, her expression a bit sour. It was clear that asking Ning Shu for help bruised her pride.

She was also dissatisfied with Ning Shu’s lack of awareness as her contracted divine beast. He didn’t even take the initiative to protect her.

Ning Shu asked, “So, where should I sleep? On the same bed as you?”

“Do divine beasts need to sleep every day?” Yu Liuli asked, surprised.

“I don’t know about other divine beasts, but I sleep every day. I have a very regular routine,” Ning Shu replied calmly.

Yu Liuli slept on the bed while Ning Shu sat on a chair, resting her head on the table to keep watch and protect Yu Liuli without leaving her side.

The assassins didn’t return. Ning Shu found sleeping on the table incredibly uncomfortable.

At dawn, she still had to head to the academy. Ning Shu wished she could lie in bed and sleep for a day.

Due to the injuries her soul had sustained, her head still felt very dazed and foggy.

But today was the day the library would open. She had to go there to see if she could find anything useful.

Yu Liuli, still simmering with rage after what happened last night, carried an especially oppressive aura today. She couldn’t help but suspect everyone she saw of being the culprit.

Her primary suspicion was Yu Linglong, whom she had crippled by destroying her ability to cultivate.

Yu Linglong would undoubtedly seek revenge.

Ning Shu ignored Yu Liuli’s foul mood and headed straight to the academy’s library.

The library turned out to be far larger than Ning Shu had expected.

There were materials on all kinds of cultivation techniques and even alchemy recipes.

When Ning Shu saw the alchemy recipes, she started reading them. Her memory was excellent so she could memorize them after reading them a couple of times.

Since nothing could be taken out of the library, Ning Shu resorted to memorizing everything.

She skimmed through the alchemy recipes, absorbing as much knowledge as possible.

After all, she knew how to make pills.

Ning Shu felt that she knew a lot of things, but when it came to this contract, she was at a loss.

Eventually, she found a recipe for a soul-nourishing pill that could nurture and repair damaged souls.

Ning Shu slapped her thigh in realization. Why hadn’t she thought of using pills to ease her pain before?

With enough strength, she could finally deal with the ticking time bomb in her sea of consciousness.

Actually, it wasn’t a time bomb–it was a dog leash.

Ning Shu memorized the ingredients needed for the pill and then searched for medicines that could repair dantians.

If Yu Linglong could consume a heavens-mending pill, she might be able to cultivate again.

Though she would have to start from scratch, being able to cultivate was far better than being a cripple for life.

Ning Shu memorized a lot of alchemy recipes and then looked up information about contracts.

The information was similar to what she already knew–there was no way to break the contract.
