When Ye Qilan arrived at Qingmu Garden, he was greeted by a sea of apricot blossoms blocking the gate completely.

“The surveillance camera was smashed, so there’s no footage from outside Qingmu Garden. It’s impossible to know who’s behind this,” Age reported to Ye Qilan.

“Does she know someone placed flowers outside Qingmu Garden?!” Ye Qilan asked, and by “she,” he was clearly referring to Su Hongxing.

“I didn’t inform Madam about this matter. I reported the situation to you immediately,” Age replied respectfully.

Ye Qilan nodded. “You handled this well. Dispose of the flowers and reinstall the cameras.”

“Sir, aren’t you going to look into this further?” Age asked, somewhat surprised.

“The more the other party acts, the easier it becomes to expose their identity. Although I don’t know why they’re creating this facade, I suspect it’s to grab our attention. If we ignore it, what use is it for them to act alone like this?” Ye Qilan replied coolly as he entered Qingmu Garden.

His instincts were spot on–the other party was intentionally provoking and trying to anger him. Moreover, this person seemed to know him rather well. Otherwise, why would they choose apricot blossoms?

Only those close to him and Su Hongxing knew that Ye Qilan was the only one who ever gifted apricot blossoms to Su Hongxing. Yet this person deliberately chose those flowers to send, and each delivery grew more extravagant. The intent was obvious: to draw his attention, to instill fear.

Unfortunately, the only person who could ever make him panic was Su Hongxing. As long as she was safe and sound, he had nothing to fear.

Over the next two days, Su Hongxing worried about receiving more flowers and feared Ye Qilan would use it as an excuse to make her quit her job and stay home.

Thankfully, everything stayed calm, and no incidents occurred. It seemed the mysterious flower deliveries had simply come to an end.

But what she didn’t know was that flowers were still being sent to her daily–Ye Qilan’s people had intercepted them before they could reach her.

Seeing how composed Ye Qilan remained, Age finally felt reassured.

On the third day, the deliveries ceased entirely, and there was complete silence. Age believed the matter to be resolved, but Ye Qilan thought otherwise–this was the calm before the storm.

The other party had used this tactic to catch Su Hongxing’s attention. It wouldn’t end so inconclusively; there had to be a follow-up.

Ye Qilan waited patiently for their next move, biding his time.

Su Hongxing wasn’t aware of any of this. That day, she went to work as usual. As soon as she turned on her computer, she received an email.

She assumed it was a work-related email. After all, this account was normally used for client communications, though it wasn’t heavily utilized.

But when she opened the email and saw its contents, her brows furrowed deeply.

Qiao Qiao, whose desk was right next to Su Hongxing’s, had been specifically instructed by Ye Qilan to keep an eye on her and report anything unusual.

Seeing the unease on Su Hongxing’s face, Qiao Qiao leaned over to glance at her screen and froze. “Who’s this? Why would someone send such a bizarre email?”

The email contained just one line: “Amou, now that you have him, have you forgotten about me?”

In her memory, the former Ye Qilan had always liked calling Su Hongxing by her childhood nickname. This email sent chills down her spine–and Su Hongxing’s reaction was even more shaken.

But Ye Qilan was supposed to be dead. Even so, the sender of this email eerily resembled him.

“Don’t dwell on it. Maybe someone’s just messing with you!” Qiao Qiao acted swiftly, decisively deleting the email.
