Ye Qilan strode up to Beichuan and coldly questioned, “Was it you who sent the flowers?!”

Beichuan looked baffled and asked back, “What flowers?”

This guy suddenly ran over to ask such a strange question–does he have some kind of problem?

Ye Qilan scrutinized Beichuan for a while, feeling that Beichuan didn’t seem to be lying. Beichuan wasn’t the kind to play games; aside from being flirtatious and vulgar most of the time, his emotions were always written on his face, and he wasn’t much of an actor.

After all, he and Beichuan had once been acquaintances. But ever since Su Hongxing’s death, Ye Qilan couldn’t muster even a shred of goodwill toward Beichuan, letting their brief friendship dissipate completely.

He stepped back a couple of steps, gave Beichuan a deep look, and then stormed off without looking back.

Beichuan, still completely puzzled, suddenly felt his anger rising. He briskly chased after him, yelling at Ye Qilan’s back, “You, Ding-surnamed bastard, what the hell do you think you are, coming into my territory and causing havoc?!”

Ye Qilan didn’t even spare him a glance, heading straight into the elevator.

Seeing Ye Qilan’s arrogant demeanor made Beichuan even angrier. He blocked the elevator doors and snarled, “Explain yourself. Why are you here for me? And what’s all this about flowers?”

Ye Qilan lightly brushed aside Beichuan’s hand, his lips barely moving as he said, “Beichuan, let me repeat the same old line: stay away from me and Su Hongxing!”

Watching Ye Qilan’s icy gaze, Beichuan felt it was hauntingly familiar, almost identical to Ye Qilan’s. “You…”

Ye Qilan pressed the ‘close’ button, shutting Beichuan out of the elevator.

As he watched the elevator numbers change, Ye Qilan’s thoughts drifted. If it wasn’t Beichuan, who could have sent flowers to Su Hongxing?

Not long after, feedback arrived from Xiaohe: “Sir, the phone number used to order the flowers is a dead number. Someone’s deliberately creating a diversion, no doubt fully expecting you to investigate them.”

Perhaps this wasn’t just a simple provocation aimed at Ye Qilan. Whoever was behind this must be someone significant.

“What’s Xiao Ji been up to lately?” Ye Qilan asked suddenly after getting into the car.

“Still teaching at Taicheng University. Our people watching him send daily updates. Xiao Ji hasn’t shown anything out of the ordinary,” Xiaohe reported.

“What about Mo Li?” Ye Qilan asked again.

“Mo Li hasn’t done anything unusual either, though she did call Madam a few times, but Madam didn’t answer. Meanwhile, the Lan Family’s been having a rough time; they’re drowning in debt. Mo Jianrong hasn’t lifted a finger for Lan Lin, and the two are on the verge of divorce. The orchestrator of this mess is Lin Zhi.” After a pause, Xiaohe suddenly asked, “Could Lin Zhi be behind this?”

“Lin Zhi’s already lost her will to fight. Her target is the Ye Family. Since nothing’s happened to the Ye Family lately, why would she bother stirring up trouble? It’s definitely not Lin Zhi.” Ye Qilan pondered for a moment before adding, “Maybe it’s related to Hongkang Group.”

To this day, they still didn’t know who the mysterious owner of Hongkang Group was. The Zhao director he had met before was utterly unimpressive–a mediocre man like that couldn’t possibly have the ambition to acquire the Ye Family.

He’d always believed: the more mysterious Hongkang Group’s owner was, the less they could be underestimated.

“That does seem likely,” Xiaohe agreed with Ye Qilan’s conclusion.

But until Hongkang Group’s owner showed their true face, they could only sit back and wait.

Whenever anything involving Su Hongxing came up, Ye Qilan tended to lose his cool. But once he regained his composure, that’s when he was at his most formidable.

Soon after, Ye Qilan received a phone call from Age. Age informed him that Qingmu Garden was now surrounded by a sea of flowers. There was no doubt the same person had sent them.
