Chapter 45: She’s My Woman, At Least For Now

Wen Mo usually tolerated those he considered as friends, but he still had his limits.

The saying “three strikes and you are out” rang true. After the third time, Wen Mo would not put up with his friend any longer, no matter how noble and elite the latter was.

Gu Xicheng was frustrated, all because he understood Wen Mo too well!

He grew up in the same institution as Wen Mo and both of them shared a unique bond.

Sometimes, he made some mistakes which angered Wen Mo. For instance, there was a time where his blunder caused Wen Mo to lose two hundred million yuan. Nonetheless, Wen Mo did not hold it against him.

And now?

For a f*cking woman who drank a glass of liquor that was offered by him, Wen Mo wanted to turn against him?!

Wen Mo’s glare at Gu Xicheng went unnoticed.

Wen Mo knew Chi Wan was drunk when he saw how unsteady she was and how she was about to collapse onto the sofa. He stretched out his long arm and pulled her back towards himself.

“Wen Mo, she’s just an irrelevant woman!”

Gu Xicheng emphasized on the word “irrelevant”.

Rong Xi, who was busy stuffing his cheeks with desserts, looked up. His appearance was simply adorable. He added, “What do you mean ‘irrelevant’?! She’s my Muse, my Goddess!”

“Shut up!”

Lil Bai rolled his eyes when he got interrupted. When he saw the imminent rage in Gu Xicheng’s gaze, he smacked his lips and scolded him, “You’re batsh*t crazy!”

Wen Mo said calmly, “She’s my woman.” He paused, then added, “At least for now.”

Gu Xicheng darted his gaze. He suddenly realized that he went overboard at picking on Chi Wan.

They had always pretended to be a couple. Once the uproar was over, they would naturally break up. Did he have nothing better to do?

Rong Xi grasped Wen Mo’s hidden meaning and rejoiced. While his cheeks were still stuffed, he mumbled, “Brother Mo, after you break up with Goddess, can I date her?”

A strange feeling took form in Wen Mo’s heart when he heard this. He replied flatly, “That’s your business and it has nothing to do with me.”

Rong Xi smiled happily. “Hahaha, and here I thought I’ll betray you by stealing your girl. Now you’ve said it, I feel better!”

Gu Xicheng sniggered. “As long as you have the money, you can claim her now and do whatever you want with her.”

“Gu Xicheng! Try humiliating my Goddess again!” Rong Xi was mad. He threw the plate in his hands aside and glared. “What’s the point of you having a mouth? Don’t you have anything nice to say?”

Wen Mo cast a harsh, dark gaze on Gu Xicheng.

Gu Xicheng was frustrated. He sensed Wen Mo’s gaze on him and felt guilty, so he looked away.

“Dammit, I’d better shut the f*ck up then!”

A hint of discontent appeared on his face. He threw a sideways glance at Chi Wan, who was lying in Wen Mo’s arms with a reddish face.

A mere woman could cause several arguments between them. How long did this have to last? If she remained in their circle, a rift would surely take shape.

As long as Wen Mo did not actually develop feelings for Chi Wan, everything could go back to the way it was.

Did not actually develop feelings…

Gu Xicheng’s attention fell on Wen Mo’s face. He was surprised when he saw Wen Mo placing a palm on Chi Wan’s forehead.

It felt really weird.

This guy was a renowned gentleman and treated every woman with care and respect. However, if any woman wanted to get close to him, it would be a harder task than ascending to the heavens.

Chi Wan was the only woman who showed up beside Wen Mo and had physical contact with him.

The only thing Gu Xicheng could do was to look at the bright side. After all, Wen Mo had spent some time overseas. Perhaps his personality had changed due to the environment he was in.
