Gu Xijiu remained quiet, but the lady suddenly reached out to Gu Xijiu. The wizardry barrier that Fan Qianshi had put up should have been able to keep everyone out of reach.  Di Hao, Fan Qianshi, and the pink candle dragon were all standing frozen, each in their own position of cultivating. All of their bodies were covered by a layer of ice, making them look like intricate ice statues.

 Di Hao was looking at her with his mouth half-open as if asking for help from his mother.

 The pink candle dragon had its eyes on her unwaveringly. It looked quite pathetic and was obviously fearful of the lady.

 As for Fan Qianshi, he must not have thought that he would be trapped by the ice so quickly. Based on his stance, it seemed that he was about to issue a fire spell.

Her whole body started to freeze to the point where she felt that she was also turning into an ice sculpture. Even breathing became difficult since the air was filled with ice crystals. Every breath she took brought the spiky ice crystals into her air passages and lungs, thus inflicting injuries in her respiratory system. She was clearly in pain to the point where leaving her physical body behind suddenly seemed like a great option.

 “Life is painful as it is, with more suffering than joy. Why don’t you just let it go?” The lady’s voice echoed in Gu Xijiu’s ears like a wicked chant, telling her to give up.

 The voice seemed to have the power to induce a change of mindset in Gu Xijiu. She started to become convinced that she really should give up.

 Life had always been a painful journey, especially being trapped in a physical body that only brought her pain. Perhaps, she could let go and finally relieve herself from the pain.

 The thoughts of giving up started to become clear, which sped up the freezing process of her physical body. Her soul was at the brink of leaving her body for good.

 However, something told her that it was not right. She wanted to talk back to the woman but was too stiff to move due to the cold.

 She wanted to tell the woman that her interpretation of life was incorrect.

 Indeed, life was a long, painful journey, but not for her. She had Di Fuyi.
