Chapter 787: Chapter 787: People of the Hua Family

Qin Hao had no idea what Ning Yao was thinking. He slightly nodded and the two of them took a car to the nearest cinema.

The cinema was quite crowded, though not as much as it had been a few days earlier. After buying tickets and some snacks, they queued to enter the screening hall.

In “Mechanical Soldier 2,” the lead actors had been replaced by others from Yuhao Media Company. Qin Hao recognized the female lead; her name was Yu Tiantian.

Qin Hao didn’t know the plot of the movie. This was the second installment written by Zhao Yuying’s company, following the first step of “Mechanical Soldier.” Overall, it wasn’t bad and was on par with the first installment.

During a particularly thrilling scene, Qin Hao felt Ning Yao grab his hand.

Qin Hao sneakily glanced at her. Ning Yao, with her cheeks flushed, watched the movie and didn’t dare look at Qin Hao, but her grip was very tight.

She didn’t let go of Qin Hao’s hand even after the movie ended. As they walked out of the cinema, Ning Yao naturally hooked her arm through his. Her heart was pounding, afraid that Qin Hao might suddenly pull away.

After leaving the cinema, Ning Yao took him shopping and to enjoy some entertainment facilities. After dark, they had a candlelit dinner together.

Coming out of the restaurant, Ning Yao was still holding onto his arm. She felt a warm comfort throughout her body.

The two walked along the street, which wasn’t very crowded. The weather was still a bit cold, and there weren’t many people out at night.

As they walked, Ning Yao said, “Qin Hao, I heard you’re developing the moon. Will people be able to live there in the future?”

Qin Hao slightly nodded, “Yes, once Earth’s population is large enough, we can take a spaceship to the moon. It would only take an hour or two, and you could also enjoy the space scenery.”

Just as Ning Yao was about to speak, two figures suddenly leapt out from the bushes nearby, wielding long swords that shone coldly as they rushed towards Qin Hao.

Seeing this, Qin Hao’s eyes narrowed slightly as he moved to shield Ning Yao behind him.

The two figures approached rapidly, reaching Qin Hao in just a few seconds. Their icy swords aimed for his throat and chest.

Qin Hao’s expression remained calm as he extended his hands, catching the two swords between his fingers, which surprised the attackers. To catch a sword with bare hands — what sort of strength was that?

“Crack”

The two swords were instantly snapped by Qin Hao’s fingers. The attackers’ eyes widened in horror as they scrambled back, turning to flee.

Qin Hao flicked his hands, and two streaks of cold light flashed with extreme speed. This strength erupted purely from his flesh.

As the cold light was about to stab into the attackers, they released a burst of light from their bodies, shielding themselves from the broken swords. However, the tremendous force sent them flying backwards.

Seeing this, a glint flashed in Qin Hao’s eyes. Was this the Inner Strength that Wang Qi had mentioned?

He chased after them. As Qin Hao caught up, the two tried to get up and escape, but after being punched twice by Qin Hao, they no longer had the strength to run.

Qin Hao looked at them sternly, “Who are you? Why are you trying to assassinate me?”

The two men remained silent, no matter how much he asked.

Qin Hao’s expression turned cold as he administered a control drug, “First taste the agony of a thousand ants gnawing at your heart.”

At this, their expressions drastically changed. Soon after, a gnawing pain erupted within them, and they writhed on the ground in agony.

Less than a minute later, they could no longer endure. They hastily said, “We’ll talk, we’ll talk, please give us the antidote quickly.”

“All right.” With Qin Hao’s words, they no longer felt the pain.

Both men were middle-aged. They quickly said, “We were sent by our young master. He instructed us to find an opportunity to kill you and then kidnap Ning Yao.”

Curiously, Qin Hao asked, “Who is your young master? Do I know him?”

“Hua Lihui is our son of the Hua family.”

Qin Hao’s expression was slightly startled. Hua Lihui was a son of the Hua Family? Weren’t these families supposed to be out of the public eye?

In fact, he didn’t know that what Wang Qi had mentioned was about the six major sects staying out of the public eye, while the eight great ancient martial families were very much involved and hidden within this bustling metropolis.

There were members of the six major sects in the city as well, but very few.

A smile appeared on Qin Hao’s face. So, Hua Lihui was from the Hua family. He had been trying to find these ancient martial families, and now the opportunity had presented itself.

“You two go back, tell him the mission failed, and then flee back.” Qin Hao said to them.

The two were stunned for a moment and asked, “What about the antidote?”

“There is no antidote. From now on, behave yourselves, or you’ll get to experience the feeling of ‘ten thousand ants gnawing at the heart’ every day.”

The two shivered, no longer dared to talk back, and turned to leave.

Ning Yao came over, curious, and asked, “Who are they? What is their relationship with Hua Lihui?”

Qin Hao: “Xuan Country has eight great ancient martial families, and the Hua Family is one of them. That Hua Lihui is their son, and these two are likely their servants.”

Ning Yao was puzzled: “Eight great ancient martial families? Servants? What era are we in that such family systems still exist?”

Qin Hao: “There are still empires in interstellar space; compared to that, these ancient martial families are nothing special.”

Ning Yao was stunned for a moment: “There are empires in interstellar space? And they’re surviving? That’s just unbelievable.”

“The universe is vast, full of wonders.”

After speaking, Qin Hao sent a message to Li Wenjun, asking him to keep an eye on that Hua Lihui at Jianghai University.

The two walked for a while, Ning Yao looking at him several times as if she wanted to speak but stopped herself, clearly struggling to express herself!

Seeing through her thoughts, Qin Hao said, “It’s getting late; how about I walk you home?”

Ning Yao quickly whispered, “I’ve already told them I won’t be going back tonight.”

“Ah? If you’re not going back, where will you sleep?” Qin Hao asked, pretending to be clueless.

Ning Yao’s cheeks turned red, “I’ll sleep in a hotel…”

The two arrived at the hotel, took the room card, and entered the room, Ning Yao’s heartbeat racing.

“I’ll be heading back now, you get some rest,” Qin Hao said to her.

As she heard his words, Ning Yao felt anxious and suddenly hugged him from behind, “Don’t go, I’m scared to be alone.”

Qin Hao turned his head, his face brimming with a smile: “Scared of what?”

Realizing his teasing tone, Ning Yao responded, feeling a bit irritated, “Stop it, you’re so bad, always bullying me,” while she playfully punched him with her small fists.

The next morning.

Qin Hao and Ning Yao both woke up.
