CHAPTER 11: THE KNIGHT’S SMILE

​As expected of the handsome polar bear.

To not feel embarrassed, freezing technique.

Speaking of, back at the knight’s office, he was able to freeze even the Captain Guard of the palace. I’m sure he’s skill is “Freezing” or something.

And after knowing somethings about the handsome polar bear it was already around noon. Even the me who was left frozen, started to thaw a bit as I started to prepare to move on the dining area so I can have my lunch. As the handsome polar bear left the room.

“Un. The same menu as days before”

In a table for four there were two chairs, today’s lunch is laid out.

A piece of bread and vegetable soup. This is just like the breakfast I had before, it’s just that today’s menu has cottage cheese and honey.

This has been my lunch for the past few days and it’s been the same ever since.

“… …So they really are mistreating me”

Probably. For sure.

From what I’ve heard from the handsome polar bear, there are all sorts of bad rumours around to the point that the people in charge doesn’t even feel like servicing me.

On the first few days the soup were still warm or something but right now the soup has completely gone cold.

The pan used to be freshly baked but right now it’s quite apparent that a day or two has passed already with the bread I have. As for it’s form and taste, it’s similar to a french bread but since it’s been days since it was baked, the flavor has fallen.

d it’s okay but it really can’t be helped that it’s not a freshly baked bread.

But you see, you seeeee, I really want to eat something more delicious!

The outside has that crispy crust while the inside is fluffy and once your tear it the freshly bake aroma will burst forth.

… …I wanna eat it. I don’t have to bake it but something like french toast.

Right now, in front of me is definitely a french bread. 

It’s form and shape looks like a baguette. Thinly, long from the center. If a day has passed, the texture of the bread disappears and it’d be extremely hard to eat it. And then the aroma of the flour lessens and the moisture of the inside disappears and hardens in the process. 

Well for the past few days, I wasn’t thinking much so I just ate it. So it’s not like something inedible. Compared to my breakfast, this one has cottage cheese and honey. 

But right now it’s different. 

Now I have the skill “Summon Kitchen”…!

With this, I wouldn’t have to worry eating something like this. The problem is if it’s possible to bring an ingredient outside into the mini kitchen.

Well of course it’s not something I know but it’s worth it to give it a try.

I placed the bread, cottage cheese and honey inside the basket and then I activated my skill.

“Summon Kitchen”

By doing that my body has warped inside the kitchen and I started getting use to the feeling of being warped.

“Wa! I did it! I was able to bring it!”

As I looked at the item I was holding, there was the basket with the ingredients properly in here. 

Which means, with this bringing ingredients from outside is okay! Amazing! It seems like it adapted to m greed.

It’s like…really…I’m thankful.

I said as I whispered my thanks to the kitchen and the basket with the ingredients, while patting it softly.

“Well then, time to make this bread deliciously!”

Right now, the ingredients I have are bacon and egg. 

Just now, I got some black pepper for the handsome polar bear, so I still have some points remaining and it’s fine if I get some new ingredients.

So with that, I went over the crystal liquid――x

“It increased!”

Well…I did know but…

“But some it still feels novel”

That’s right. It still feels new. While feeling like that I went towards the liquid crystal.

“Bacon egg (arranged/revised) Perfected. 150pt”

“It increased but…it kinda decreased.”

The points did increase but it also decrease. The first time I made the bacon egg, the point was 200 pts but now it became 150 pts… …

“Arrange? Means that black pepper I added?”

Eh? Is that why it decreased to 150 pts.

Wha arrange? It’s not like I change anything. But more than that, adding black pepper did make it delicious right…?

I still don’t know. But I’m sure I’ll know about it as long as I keep on using this skill. So leaving that aside.

That’s it for now. Besides I kinda had the feeling that I’ll get the same point if I make the same dish. 

That’s why, I’m much more curious on the whole, bacon egg (revised) and that additional word at the end.

“Knight’s Smile 2000 pt”

…The Smile of the Knight. 

Those words reminded me of that time when he ate the bacon egg and his innocent smile after that.

Un. I feel like it’s talking about the smile of the handsome polar bear.

“…Which means, the smile of the handsome polar bear is worth 2000 points”

I stared at those underlined words, “The Knight’s Smile”

Just making the bacon egg gave me 200 pts but having the handsome polar bear eat it gave me 2000 pts! 10 TIMES…!

The moment I realized that, I moved away from the liquid crystal and stared at the ingredients on top of the table.

And then I said it,

” ‘It’s done/ Dekiagari!’ “

With that I warped back inside my room. It seems like I do not have to actually finish cooking in order to return. 

So while feeling relief, I went towards the door connected to the hallway where the handsome polar bear is standing guard.

“Umm”

When I opened the door, there was the handsome polar bear.

He was staring at me as he tilted his head a bit, as if asking me what’s wrong.

“Right now I was thinking of going inside the kitchen”

And those blue eyes of him continue to stare at me…

“Would you like to eat with me?”
