Chapter 2055: Heading to Black Iron Village Chapter 2055: Heading to Black Iron Village Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Destin Wroten’s expression remained unchanged.

After speaking to Braydon Neal in a low voice, he turned and walked down the mountain.

Braydon followed behind him, as if taking a casual stroll through a courtyard.

“Father, it’s over there.

Uncle Destin just asked me to come back and fetch you first.” “That guy from outside is really good-looking.” A small voice suddenly came from ahead.

The child who had left earlier returned, bringing along a tall, thin man, and hurried over.

The man’s face was tense and solemn.

When he saw Destin and Braydon, he let out a sigh of relief.

“Destin, are you alright?” “I’m fine,” Destin replied, shaking his head.

“What could possibly happen to me?

Look how worried you are.” “It’s good that you’re fine.

That’s all that matters.” The tall, thin man turned his gaze to Braydon, who was standing behind Destin.

“Is this the outsider?” Braydon nodded.

“That’s right.

But rather than being called an outsider, I’d prefer you address me by my nameaEUR”Braydon Neal.” The tall, thin man looked apologetic immediately.

“Ah, my apologies.

My name is Felder Wroten.

I’m just an ordinary villager here in Black Iron Village.

If my earlier way of addressing you was inappropriate, please forgive me.” Braydon regarded the polite man in front of him.

“You don’t need to apologize,” he said kindly, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Destin, noticing their cordial exchange, smiled.

“Haha, let’s go.

It’s almost lunchtime.

Braydon has just arrived, so we must show him proper hospitality.” The group began making their way down the mountain.

Braydon, however, kept his eyes on the scenery along the way.

On the left, a vibrant cluster of blooming flowers caught his attention, while on the right stood a golden maple forest with its leaves turning dry and brittle.

“Braydon, what do you think?

This is the unique scenery of our Black Iron Mountain,” Destin said, glancing back at him.

Braydon smiled faintly before falling into a thoughtful silence.

“Indeed.

This kind of scenery is truly rareaEUR|” The group eventually reached the foot of the mountain, and a small village came into view.

White smoke rose lazily from chimneys, cloaking the entire village in a veil of warmth and life.

It had been a long time since Braydon had seen such a scene.

“Braydon, isn’t our Black Iron Village well-built?

Even Silver City’s captain couldn’t stop praising it when he visited.” Seeing the pride on Destin’s face, Braydon nodded obligingly.

He said nothing further and followed Destin into the village.

At the entrance, a group of dogs stood in a tense standoff, staring at one another like predators ready to pounce.

One large yellow dog growled fiercely at a big black dog on the opposite side.

The black dog, not one to back down, barked furiously, rallying its allies.

Destin, noticing the commotion, cursed under his breath and strode forward.

“Big Yellow!

Big Black!

You two mutts are itching for a beating again!” “If you don’t start catching mice instead of stirring up trouble, I’ll break your legs!” The dogs, once fierce and aggressive, immediately wilted at the sight of Destin.

Their tails wagged furiously as they put on their best submissive faces.

“Let’s go, Braydon.

These dogs fight every day.

I’ve gotten used to it,” Destin said, gesturing for Braydon to follow him into the village.

Braydon’s gaze lingered briefly on the dogs before moving on.

He followed Destin down the dirt path, taking in the rustic surroundings.

As they walked deeper into the village, Braydon surveyed the buildings on both sides, his thoughts swirling.

His expression turned cold, his mood darkening with each passing moment.

Sensing something was amiss, Destin glanced back at Braydon.

“Braydon, are you feeling unwell?” Felder also turned to look at him.

“No, I’m fine,” Braydon replied, his voice laced with frost.

“I’m just grieving for my compatriots.” “Grieving?” Felder and Destin exchanged confused looks.

“Brother Braydon, did someone in your family pass away?” Braydon shook his head slowly.

“It’s nothing.

Let’s go.” Though puzzled, neither of them pressed the matter.

As they walked, children from the village spotted Destin, who was carrying his large sword.

They immediately ran over, their faces lit with excitement.

“Uncle Destin, you’re back!” “Uncle Destin, when will I be as strong as you?” “Uncle Destin, my dad asked me to tell you that the new weights he made for you are ready.” Watching the children swarm around Destin, Braydon couldn’t help but smile.

But beneath the warmth of his expression, his deep-set eyes carried a chilling coldness, as if peering into an abyss.

Destin’s home was modest, with a small courtyard, two rooms, and a living area.

He and Braydon settled in the living room.

“Where did Felder go?

Did he head home?” Braydon asked.

As soon as they’d arrived, Felder had left with the child from before.

Destin’s expression turned peculiar at the question.

He glanced around to ensure no one was listening before leaning in and whispering.

“The woman in Felder’s household is fierce.

He usually doesn’t dare say much at homeaEUR”she calls all the shots.” Braydon’s expression grew curious.

“Isn’t that normal?” From Braydon’s perspective, it wasn’t unusual for women to take charge in the household.

In his view, men and women were equals, with roles determined by personality and status, not gender.

Destin looked stunned.

“Braydon, what are you talking about?

How can a man let a woman rule over him?” It dawned on Braydon that Destin was a traditional, old-fashioned man who believed a woman’s place was in the homeaEUR”washing clothes, cooking, and raising childrenaEUR”while men worked to provide.

Braydon smiled but chose not to argue.

Their beliefs were too different, and neither was likely to sway the other.

“Destin, is it just you living here?” Braydon asked, changing the subject.

Destin nodded, scratching the back of his head.

“My parents passed away when I was young.

I survived thanks to the kindness of the villagers.

That’s why I’ve made it my life’s mission to protect this village.”
