Chapter 9: She Dared to Help

When Fu Qing woke up, it was already morning. The golden sunlight shone through the curtains and onto her body. She stretched out her fingers and wriggled them, before quickly turning over and sitting up.

Today was the day she would go home with Zhan Qi and have dinner with the Zhan family.

She couldn’t wear the wedding dress on a normal occasion. However, Fu Qing didn’t see her clothes at the bedside either. Just as she was feeling anxious, Zhan Qi pushed the door open and entered.

In his hands was an exquisitely made and beautifully styled set of gowns. Her eyes lit up — it was very much to her liking.

“Put this on before we go back.”

Zhan Qi passed the gown to her and his gaze swept over her body. His gaze was scorching hot as it lingered over her body.

Feeling the heat, Fu Qing quickly looked down. She hurriedly covered herself with the blanket.

She wasn’t wearing any clothes!

Seeing her struggle, Zhan Qi’s lips curled up into a faint smile. His mood improved a little.

“I’ve seen everything. There’s nothing for you to hide. Let’s go, it’s not good to be late.”

Then, he turned around and left Fu Qing alone in the bedroom. Heaving a sigh of relief, she quickly put her clothes on.

Afterward, the two of them drove to the Zhan family’s mansion. Just as they were passing the intersection of the main road, a group of people suddenly blocked their way.

“What’s wrong?”

Fu Qing saw an old man lying on the ground and quickly asked Zhan Qi to stop the car.

Zhan Qi stopped the car and watched her squeeze through the crowd. He was about to help the old man too, but he was stopped by the gathering crowd.

They continued to gossip, which made Fu Qing frown.

Fu Qing ignored the crowd that tried to stop her and went forward to help the old man up.

“Sir, don’t worry. I will send you to the hospital now.”

The old man trembled as he looked at her with gratitude.

He had just left the village to buy some necessities, but he was knocked down by a motorcycle when crossing the road. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get up.

Fortunately, Fu Qing happened to be there.

Zhan Qi got off the car and came over to help. Together, the two sent the old man to the hospital. After paying the medical fees, they quickly rushed to the mansion.

He was driving the car at full speed. When they finally arrived, it was just past eleven, so it was not too late.

When the couple entered, Zhan You greeted them with a smile.

“Come, sit here.”

The Zhan family’s Zhan Leng and Zhan Cheng also wore warm smiles on their faces. They both looked gentlemanly and polite. Seated next to them were two beautiful women who were dressed fashionably and elegantly.

“The slightly plump one on the left is the eldest sister-in-law Wang Lian, and the one on the right is the second sister-in-law Li Ying.”

Fu Qing couldn’t refute the two sisters-in-law’s warm invitation. She looked at Zhan Qi and nodded in agreement.
