Chapter 14: A Suspect Himself

While Sophia and Felix chatted, the second suspect arrived.

It was Claude, the popular quarterback of Rotary University’s football team.

Anita and Claude were high school classmates. Claude was the best player on the football team ever since he was admitted to Rotary University by virtue of his excellent athletic talent. In their sophomore year, they went to a huge game but were ridiculed by the other teams for not having cheerleaders. Claude, who had always been hot-tempered, almost got into a fight.

As Anita was a cheerleader back in high school, Claude asked for Anita’s help. After Anita agreed, she dragged Sophia into the cheerleading squad too.

In that game, Rotary University was the biggest winner. Not only did the team win the championship, but the cheerleading team was also well-received. After the game, Anita and Sophia received a lot of love letters.

As they knew each other as teammates, Claude and Sophia shared a rather ordinary friendship. 

Anita told Claude what she had said to Felix.

Seeing that Claude had the same expression as Felix, Olivia added “shocked and confused” after his name.

Claude was obviously not as composed as Felix. After the shock, he stood up and paced around the living room. Knocking his head, he mumbled, “The night of the birthday party, the night of the birthday party…”

“Sophia!” Claude said in shock, “I have a baby with Sophia? Is that true?”

Not quite, you’re just a suspect.

Anita, who was trying her best to act, nodded.

If the child were really his, she wouldn’t be lying.

Claude immediately said, “I’ll take responsibility!”

After becoming a father out of the blue, Claude didn’t show any negative emotions. Instead, he was rather excited.

Claude scratched the back of his head, “Not really. I remember that I was drunk early that night so I went to the third floor to get some rest. I woke up halfway and went to the bathroom. Then I went to the balcony to get some fresh air. I can’t remember which room I entered when I came back…”

Just like Felix, he did not have any sensual memories.

Sophia walked out of the lounge, and Felix followed behind her.

He now believed that he was indeed one of the suspects.

Claude immediately walked over when he saw Sophia, and carefully surrounded her.

“Sophia, how are you feeling now? I heard that some babies with high athletic talent move around in their mothers’ stomachs. Did he kick you?”

Felix, who knew the details, was a little annoyed when Claude assumed that he was a father. He said, “A five-week-old fetus hasn’t even developed any organs. How can he kick the mother?”

Claude looked at Anita blankly.
