Scouty pondered seriously for a moment, then helplessly shook her head and said,

“To be honest, I quite like this world as it is, just like this.”

Belldandy nodded in agreement and then her eyes flickered with a trace of confusion:

“Speaking of which, don’t you think we’ve changed a lot?”

“In what way?”

“We’ve become more humanlike than before.”

“Seems like it.”

Scouty nodded in surprise, thought for a while, then gave up helplessly,

“Still, I can’t figure out why.”

“Same here, it might just be my imagination.”

Belldandy softly reassured, before steering the topic to something else,

“By the way, where’s your cat? Haven’t seen it around these past few days.”

Hearing this, Scouty’s face showed a hint of pride and she said:

“I threw it into the Frost Giant’s territory. It has my scent on it, perfect to use as a target for our eldest sister.”

Hearing that her younger sister had actually thrown their pet out to attract fire, Belldandy was speechless:

“Isn’t that a bit too much?”

“It’s fine, it’s a grown cat now, can take care of itself. Plus, the Frost Giants should remember my scent, they’ll surely take good care of Ymir. Even if caught by our eldest sister, she can’t possibly take out her anger on a cat, right?”

“That cat’s unlucky to have followed you–can’t even get a full meal and still gets thrown out to be a shield.”

“That’s why I set it free, it can come back if it wants to, if not, I won’t insist,” Scouty replied with conviction, playing the role of a heartless owner to the end.

Seeing that she couldn’t awaken her younger sister’s conscience, Belldandy had no choice but to let it be.

“Second sis, it’s not often you come to visit me, you should stay longer this time.”
