Ling Chuxia’s stare fell on him. She had seen his car earlier and her conjecture that he might be at the same place had come true. It was a coincidence that they ran into each other.

Unconsciously, she retreated a step.

Ji Xinxin had also caught sight of Shi Che. As she watched Ling Chuxia’s retreat, her brows knitted together. “Ling Chuxia, what kind of reaction is that? Is Shi Che your husband or your arch enemy?”

Who would have moved backward upon meeting their husband?

Upon such a realization, Ling Chuxia paused and lowered her eyes.

Ji Xinxin shook her head in despair, “How disappointing!”

As both of them spoke, a graceful lady in a fury red dress strutted forward. She was pretty stacked and her movements were light and graceful. As she walked, her skirt fluttered as if hot flames were dancing. It was a pretty sight.

Ji Xinxin and Ling Chuxia followed the attractive lady and saw her move towards Shi Che. Once she had stood in front of him, she threw her arms over his shoulders and pasted herself onto him. Her red lips muttered in Shi Che’s ears and her exquisite face was filled with seductive smiles.

Ling Chuxia watched in bewilderment and before she could respond, Ji Xinxin started her sneer, “Oh, so that dress which Mr. Shi had ordered was meant for her.”

After a slight pause, she raised her head and chin and instructed Ling Chuxia, “Let’s go and say hello. We may just ask Mr. Shi to introduce that lady who’s permanently pasted on him.”

Ji Xinxin had an obvious motive to create a scene. Her move gave Ling Chuxia a huge fright and she refocused. Pulling her shoulders, she stopped her friend frantically. “No. Don’t go.”

She had no right to interfere in Shi Che’s affairs. Why should she allow herself to suffer humiliation at this moment?

“Why not? Ling Chuxia, please watch closely. That’s your husband. He’s indiscreet with his womanizing. And that’s your response?”

Her friend was not at all anxious. However, she was sitting on tenterhooks. She could not bear to see Ling Chuxia being stepped all over like a doormat. However, her friend was indifferent to her nagging. Even the eunuch got anxious before the emperor.

“Xinxin, please. Don’t go over. Let’s go up to shop around. I recall that there’s something I’d like to buy.”

Ji Xinxin had always been quick-tempered, Ling Chuxia was worried that she would rush forward to give Shi Che a lashing. She grabbed Ji Xinxin forcefully to stop her impulsive actions.

Ji Xinxin was quite astounded by Ling Chuxia’s plea. She glared at Ling Chuxia and as she watched her friend’s flustered face and her fleeing actions. She let out a laugh.
