Lady Meng cursed under her breath. She couldn’t believe that she had allowed that brat to steal from their Research Institute! Now that all of this had happened, she needed to find a way to fix this.

None of them expected Yao Ran to change things.

Madame Meng thought of Yao Ran as nothing more than a young and obnoxious girl. Besides, the Yao Family had no business in the medical field, so she simply believed her.

She shot Yao Ran a glare.

What she really wanted was to stall for more time. She had already asked her daughter to contact her husband to ask for his opinion.

Meng Ling already took out her phone.

Yang Ming naturally knew that Yao Ran’s character wasn’t good in the slightest. He had always looked down on her, but now, they were already in the same boat.

“Ranran is just as beautiful as she is sensible,” he finally said. “She can’t be the same woman you were talking about. Besides, this matter hasn’t been investigated yet, has it? So, maybe you should stop calling her a thief, and instead, concentrate on the facts.”

“Oh, please, don’t be played by that woman, President Yang.”

Madam Meng scoffed.

What she didn’t know was how true her words were.
