Chu Liyuan spent the entire day working, yet not even a hint of exhaustion crept in.

It’s such a pity that the pajama set from last night had met its noble demise. Should he pick up a few more sets for Jian Jian?

That evening, as he arrived back at Li Garden, a “little surprise” he bought after work dangled in his hand.

“Uncle, you’re back! Come on, let’s eat! Jin made so many delicious dishes today.”

“Is that so?”

“What’s this? Is it a gift for me?” Fake Jian Dan deliberately mimicked Jian Dan’s tone of speech.

“It’s certainly a gift. But whose gift it is may vary depending on perspective.”

“Hmm?”

“Eat first; you’ll find out soon enough.”

After dinner, Chu Liyuan received an urgent call and went to the study, while Fake Jian Dan used the time to take a shower and wait for him in the bedroom, preparing to explain the circumstances.

However, she waited too long and eventually fell asleep.

Half-asleep, she felt a sharp grip clutching her throat. She opened her eyes only to meet Chu Liyuan’s icy glare.

“Who the hell are you?”

After finishing the call, Chu Liyuan returned to the bedroom, took a shower, and pulled back the covers to gather Jian Jian into his arms–only to discover the person lying there, though identical in appearance and figure, was certainly not his Jian Jian.

Lying here was someone else entirely. If this woman wasn’t Jian Jian, then where was she?

The thought stoked a surge of fury in his chest.

“Let go so I can explain.” Fake Jian Dan struggled to squeeze out these few words.

Reluctantly, Chu Liyuan eased the pressure of his grip around her neck. “Speak!”

“Here’s what happened…” Fake Jian Dan recounted the events concisely for Chu Liyuan.

“Then why didn’t you say anything during dinner?” Chu Liyuan narrowed his eyes and asked.

“This matter requires secrecy, so the fewer people who know, the better.”

“Where is Jian Jian now?”

“I can tell you, but you cannot go to her right now.”

“That’s impossible!”

“You need to understand–the other side knows Zimo all too well. Everything related to her is being monitored, and that naturally includes you and Jian Dan. That’s precisely why I had to pose as her.”

“If you go to her now, everything we’ve planned will likely fall apart.”

Chu Liyuan stood, putting on his clothes. “No one will stop me from seeing Jian Jian.”

“But…”

“Stay out of this.”

He was Chu Liyuan. Does sneaking out of Li Garden without notice pose any sort of challenge?

Certainly not!

Through a hidden passage, Chu Liyuan left Li Garden and drove toward the address the woman had given him.

At that moment, Jian Dan was seated before six monitors, her fingers flying across the keyboard at lightning speed…

“Jian Jian~”

“Uncle!”

The second Jian Dan heard Chu Liyuan’s voice, her hands froze mid-typing. She abruptly stood and looked at him.

Without a word, Chu Liyuan strode over to her, scooped her up in his arms, and turned to Qiu Zimo. “Where’s Jian Jian’s room?”

Qiu Zimo smirked. “The farthest room on the right.”

With Jian Dan in his arms, Chu Liyuan headed straight for the room, kicked the door closed behind him, locked it with a swift turn, and walked toward the bed. He tossed Jian Dan onto the mattress, braced both arms on either side of her, pinning her in place.

“Uncle, I’m sorry! I know I was wrong, but I couldn’t just stand by when Zimo needed me. She’s helped me so much before–how could I not help her this time?”

“Jian Jian, your heart is huge, isn’t it? Aren’t you afraid I’d mistake her for you and devour her whole?”

“No, I know you wouldn’t, Uncle! Because you love me–the real me–not just my face or figure. Even if someone looked exactly like me, she still wouldn’t be me. You’d see that right away–you wouldn’t do anything improper with her.”

“You have that much faith in me?” Chu Liyuan leaned closer.

“Of course!” Jian Dan raised her arms and wrapped them around Chu Liyuan’s neck.
