“Why? Are you scared to drink it?” Qiu Nuo eyed him.

She had already tried the medicine for herself! What was this guy still worried about?

“That wasn’t what I said.” Mo Ziyan took the crystal bottle up to his lips and finished its contents in one shot.

Seeing this, Qiu Nuo couldn’t help but blush.

Was that considered an indirect kiss?

Thankfully, the other party wasn’t as attentive and did not notice anything abnormal with her behavior.

“How’s that? Are you feeling better?” Qiu Nuo asked out of concern.

After all, she had only assumed that this medicine would work on Mo Ziyan based on her theoretical knowledge. But it would be hard to be sure that it would be effective.

“Yes,” Mo Ziyan replied softly, his mind seemingly filled with thoughts as he looked at the crystal bottle in his hand. “What’s this medicine called?”

“You might not know it even if I tell you. It’s called Yuehua, and it’s a kind of relaxant. You can also think of it as a medicine that helps to relieve fatigue. It’s suitable for your situation.” Qiu Nuo glanced at the remaining ingredients. “We can’t waste all these ingredients. Let me make another few portions…”

With the remaining ingredients, Qiu Nuo successfully refined two additional portions of the Yuehua medicine and handed them all over to Mo Ziyan.

“Once we return to the city, I’ll give you another injection. The poison shouldn’t act up for quite a while after that.”

Mo Ziyan was stunned, not understanding why Qiu Nuo would bring up the matter of treating his illness. He hadn’t promised to pay her back for that this time.

Right then, the Lone Wolf mercenaries brought them a rabbit and a bag of wild fruits.

“Our chief told us to bring these to you. Have your fill so that we can continue on our way tomorrow. We don’t want to have two burdens dragging us down.”

“Thanks!” Qiu Nuo did not refuse and immediately accepted the rabbit and fruits.

After they took their leave, Mo Ziyan eyed the things in Qiu Nuo’s hands in disdain. “I have some rations in my storage ring.”

“I don’t want those!” Why on earth would she give up the fresh game to eat that disgusting dried rations? She would be a fool to do that!

Qiu Nuo skinned the rabbit skilfully, cutting it open before cleaning it and roasting it over the fire.

Because she had no other seasoning, Qiu Nuo had no choice but to squeeze the juice of the wild fruits to coat the rabbit.

Before long, a fragrance wafted through the air, and the rabbit meat had turned a glistening golden-brown.

Qiu Nuo flipped the rabbit and waited until the meat was fully cooked before taking it off the fire.

“There, it’s ready to eat now.” Qiu Nuo cut a piece of rabbit meat, handing it over to Mo Ziyan with a tree branch. “Have a taste.”

Mo Ziyan hesitated for a moment before taking a bite.

To be honest, he had never eaten anything so roughly, but it was unexpectedly delectable!

The rabbit meat was juicy and tender, and the honey-like jam had seeped into the meat as well. Although the flavors were a little bland, it was uniquely sweet and fragrant.

“How’s it?” Qiu Nuo looked at him expectantly. Her culinary skills were quite good, but this was the first time she grilled meat under such circumstances with such rudimentary equipment. She hadn’t been too confident about making a good meal.

“It’s not bad.” Mo Ziyan gave a rare compliment.

“That’s good.” Qiu Nuo smiled and picked up a piece of meat only after hearing his affirmation.

Of course, she was overjoyed that someone had tasted the food for her.

“Qiu Nuo, stop eating. A herd of wild beasts suddenly appeared from the Northwest direction! I think they’re migrating. We have to leave right away!” She suddenly heard Xue Ling’s voice.

“What?” Qiu Nuo shot up, her face full of disbelief.

She had finally managed to make a trip into the mountain, but she had encountered migrating beasts! How unlucky!

Hearing Qiu Nuo’s sudden exclamation, Mo Ziyan looked at her in confusion. Then, he jumped up and embraced her, jumping onto a nearby tree.

“You rascal! What are you two doing up there? Are you trying to run away?”

The muscular youth who had been gobbling his food down fumed as he saw Mo Ziyan’s actions. He was ready to climb the tree to get them down.

“Nonsense!” Qiu Nuo yelled down. “Don’t say that I didn’t warn you. There are migrating beasts!”

“Chief, I think I hear something.” One of the soldiers piped up in fear.

The well-built youth perked up his ears, shivering. “Shit! There are really migrating beasts! Hurry up onto the tree!”

Very quickly, Qiu Nuo heard a deafening rumbling sound that sounded as though the mountains were crumbling down beneath her.

The places where migrating beasts passed by had all been razed to the ground, save for a few ancient trees.

The weaker spirit beasts in the way were trampled, becoming nothing more than mush.

The stronger ones, on the other hand, had been swept up in the wave and forced to move along with the migrating herd.

Qiu Nuo stared at the sight wide-eyed. No wonder people said that it was rare for even a Level Nine Warrior to survive a migrating herd. That was no exaggeration!

They suddenly felt a strong wind.

Qiu Nuo watched in fear as a huge black hawk flew over them before stopping right in front of them.

Mo Ziyan put Qiu Nuo down, explaining, “Don’t worry. They’re my people.”

Only then did Qiu Nuo realize that someone was standing on the hawk. She finally breathed out a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, there weren’t any flying beasts. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been safe in the trees either.

“What happened?” Mo Ziyan asked.

“Master, Miss Shiqi has been trapped in Juyan Valley by Fifth Prince’s men. We haven’t been able to break through the barriers.” The man on the hawk reported anxiously.

“Useless!” Mo Ziyan turned cold all of a sudden, and Qiu Nuo could feel that even from a distance.

“I beg for your forgiveness, Master!” A humble voice could be heard from atop the hawk.

Mo Ziyan’s expression darkened, and he seemed to be considering something. Eventually, he turned around and said to Qiu Nuo in a serious tone, “Wait here for me. Don’t go anywhere!”

Before he finished his sentence, and before Qiu Nuo could utter a word, Mo Ziyan had already jumped up and taken his seat on the hawk’s back.

“Take me there!”

And those words were all Qiu Nuo could hear through the howling wind.
