Although the Drone launched many AGM-114 Anti-Tank Missiles, their flight paths were not along the same straight line. Thus, the Energy Beams from the Mechanical Monkey couldn’t annihilate multiple Missiles in one shot. It had to fire an Energy Beam at each Missile, one by one, to destroy every incoming one, leading to a tremendous waste of Energy.

After the first four hundred AGM-114 Anti-Tank Missiles were obliterated, when the fifth group of hundred Missiles flew in, the firing rate of the Mechanical Monkey’s Energy Beams dropped significantly–it was evident that its internal Energy was running low. Eventually, the Mechanical Monkey was unable to shoot any more Energy Beams and could only watch helplessly as the last ten AGM-114 Anti-Tank Missiles approached.

But then, to the Mechanical Monkey’s surprise, the last ten Missiles self-destructed upon entering the final 5-kilometer range. It quickly calculated the maximum range of the incoming Missiles and realized the mistake it had made. However, it was clearly too late for such an epiphany, as its Energy was almost entirely exhausted from the recent defensive effort, leaving it incapable of intercepting the incoming Missiles.

The Mechanical Monkey’s Energy reserve had originally been abundant, and under normal combat conditions, the Energy within it would have been sufficient to defend against at least 500 various types of Missiles launched by seventy to eighty aircraft, potentially deciding the outcome of a battle. Yet, Yan Fei’s Drone Avatar was like a Bug, with a terrifyingly high carrying capacity for Missiles. If converted entirely into AGM-114 Anti-Tank Missiles, it could launch as many as 920 in a single day, draining the Mechanical Monkey’s Energy entirely.

After expending 500 AGM-114 Anti-Tank Missiles to wear down the Mechanical Monkey, the Drone still had a significant combat power remaining, with 31.92 tons of payload. Still, Yan Fei wasn’t complacent. He continued probing, and the Drone proceeded to launch four AGM-129 Stealth Cruise Missiles. These four AGM-129 Missiles crossed through the airspace controlled by the Mechanical Monkey and headed towards the entrance of the Underground Military Fortress at the end of the canyon below.

Observed by the Quantum Radar, although the Mechanical Monkey detected the incoming AGM-129 Stealth Cruise Missiles, the extinguished red lights in its eyes did not light up again, clearly showing its incapability of firing Energy Beams for interception.
