Chapter 40: Break off ties (2)

Mu Ruyue was really amused by this question, so naturally she burst out laughing. Taunting cold eyes looked back at Mu Qing as she replied, “Shouldn’t you ask your adopted daughter about this?”

Mu Ruyue deliberately stressed the words “adopted daughter”.

“Mu Ruyue, are you really this disrespectful?” Mu Qing’s eyes were somber. If only he could really strangle this daughter. “Had I known that you were such an evil scourge, I would’ve killed you the day you were born!”

As far as he was concerned, having such a daughter was worse than having none. He really regretted having raised her for so many years.

Mu Ruyue laughed grimly. Those mocking eyes made Mu Qing’s heart tremble a bit. When he snapped back to his senses, a thin layer of anger was plastered onto his face and his eyes grew even more foreboding.

Just as he was about to teach this rebellious girl a good lesson, a bewitching voice interrupted out of nowhere. “Wife, I’m here to see you.”

A flash of white clothing whizzed past and then Ye Wuchen was already at Mu Ruyue’s side.

At the first sight of Ye Wuchen, Mu Yixue could no longer look away.

As the youngest daughter of the Mu family, she had encountered a lot of men, but none of them had ever been as handsome as the young man in front of her. Even His Royal Highness, whom Sister Ting’er liked, was less than a percent of him.

The young man was like the bright moon in the sky, alight with a dazzling glow all over his body. His stunningness wasn’t even comparable to women. In that instant, Mu Yixue seemed to picture this white-clad youth walking out of a painting.

How could there be such a ravishing man in the world?

Mu Yixue’s heart was pounding so hard as if it would leap out of her chest, while her eyes twinkled obsessively as if the whole world consisted of just him…

Over the years, there’d been quite a few youths who had courted her, but Mu Yixue had always had her eye on the top and no one had ever caught her fancy.

It was only at this moment that she realized that the Heavens had forbidden her from liking anyone so that she could wait for him to show up. Other than this handsome man, who else was worthy of her?

Since this was a marriage predestined by the Heavens, it meant that the two of them were meant for each other.

“What brings you here?” Mu Ruyue was puzzled. Wasn’t Ye Wuchen a bit dull? So how did he find his way to the Mu Residence?

Ye Wuchen lowered his head shyly and whispered, “I wanted to see you, so here I am.”

He certainly wouldn’t say he was worried about her. His answer, however, bewildered Mu Ruyue even more. Hadn’t they just met up?

“Mu Ruyue, who is he to you?” Mu Yixue seethed as she stared at Mu Ruyue. That gaze hinted at wanting to shred Mu Ruyue to pieces.

For some reason, the sight of their intimate conversation made Mu Yixue feel like he’d been robbed away from her, so her hostility towards Mu Ruyue heightened once more.

He was hers and hers alone! That b*tch Mu Ruyue, who was disfavored by their father, who was she? With a word from her, her father would surely snatch the young man away from her.

“What do you think he is to me?” Mu Ruyue shrugged her shoulders and tossed back a question to Mu Yixue.

Mu Yixue reddened with anger and her knife-like eyes headed towards Mu Ruyue. The urge got the best of her, but Mu Qing held her down.

With his sword brows faintly furrowed, Mu Qing swept Ye Wuchen with a cold glance and asked, ”May I ask who this Young Master is? Why did you break into the Mu Residence?”
