After the gladiator was wounded, far from recoiling,

he surged forwards ferociously, a tremendous power bursting forth, pushing the long sword completely through his own body.

Their foreheads collided fiercely, blood splattered, eyes locked. Panic etched on the youth’s face, while madness filled the gladiator’s pupils.

He roared wildly.

Spasming, he opened his bloodied maw wide, biting viciously into his opponent’s face.

“Tear!” Amidst the crisp sound, the youth’s entire face was brutally torn off, the dark red flesh beneath the skin exposed.

The gruesomely bloody scene ignited the spectators’ savagery. The youth stretched out his hands, letting out a terrified scream, as the slaves kneeling on the ground choked up, trembling in fear, with the elderly covering the children’s eyes. The gladiator rolled his tongue, swallowing the entire slab of facial skin, his smile growing more bloodthirsty.

He pressed on.

Taking advantage of the disarray caused by the loss of sight, he sliced off his opponent’s arms.

Then he lifted the youth, now reduced to a torso, high above his head and circled the Duel Arena at a swift pace, before jubilantly tossing him into the rapidly spinning gear trap.

Splash!

With his physical strength forcibly suppressed, there was no chance for resistance.

Accompanied by a scream, the bloodied body burst like fireworks, blood and flesh spraying everywhere.

This fully ignited the atmosphere of the Duel Arena, with beast-like howls echoing relentlessly.

Upon the throne.

Tajadon rested his head on his hand, licking his lips.

Normally, such a spectacle might have aroused some interest in him.

But now he felt somewhat bored. He waved his hand, ordering his servants to clear out all the gladiators and slaves present, and then issued another command.

The crowd dispersed.

Soon, only the humming sound of machinery remained on the vast bridge.

Before long, footsteps emerged from the darkness. A giant, wearing leather trousers, his upper body bare and wrapped in crimson chains, stepped through the blood plasma on the floor at an unhurried pace. He sniffed the air, catching the scent of fear that had yet to dissipate and the fresh, potent smell of blood in the hall.

Realizing he had missed a good show, a look of disappointment crossed the giant’s face.

But he didn’t say much.

He simply stepped forward and knelt respectfully before Tajadon, “My lord, you summoned me.”

Tajadon slowly rose from the throne, leaning forward as he looked down with a signature smile on his face, and said in a negotiable tone, “Oh, my dear Kane, I have a difficult task for you, one that no one else here is more suitable for than you. I plan to entrust it to you. What do you think?”

“I am your loyal hound, my lord,” Kane replied in a resounding voice, “Just command me, whatever it is, I shall accomplish it for you.”

“Is that so?” Tajadon nodded lightly, his face seemingly showing a satisfied smile.

“If that’s the case, then don’t disappoint me.”

Swish!

He stretched out his hand and pointed forward.

A black halo suddenly fell into Tajadon’s forehead.

After receiving the information entrusted by Tajadon, Kane slowly stood up, his massive body stepping on the floor to the extent that the deck forged of black steel slightly dented underneath.

He bowed his head and bent forward slightly as he left the hall, entering the rusty corridors outside.

The exhaust fan was monotonously spinning.

Beyond producing some old creaking sounds, it was utterly failing to serve its intended purpose.

The light from Constant Star fluctuated up and down with the rotation of the fan.

“My lord!” A large hand suddenly reached out and grabbed Kane’s trouser leg. He stopped in his tracks, looked down, and saw Gladiator sitting in the corner of the wall, breathing heavily. The corridor was so quiet that the creaking noise from the nails in his head could be heard. Once installed, this contraption could never be switched off, tormenting him for life until he found a moment’s peace in death.

Looking at the congealed blood on Tariq’s body, Kane smiled, “It seems you’ve enjoyed a delicious meal of Blood Food. What a pity, I could not be present to share your joy.”

“Did that damned coward assign a task to you?” Tariq said.

“Hmm,” Kane nodded.

“Pah!” Tariq’s face twisted into a fierce expression, and he spat out a mouthful of blood-tainted saliva, then stomped on it as if he were stepping on Tajadon’s flaccid face, “We’ve given so much, yet the spoils are snatched away by him. What right does he have to lay hands on our things, and now he even has the audacity to assign us tasks!?”

Kane shrugged his shoulders, “He is stronger than us, it’s just that simple.”

“Are we just going to let him manipulate us?” Tariq breathed heavily, then sneezed, and the clotted blood in his nostrils sprayed out.

The dark red blood flowed down his teeth like a little river, but, paradoxically, it made him laugh, feeling much relieved.

“No, not manipulation, but endurance,” Kane’s mouth twitched, and the wide corridor that could normally accommodate several people side by side was now fully blocked by his solitary figure, with only a few rays of light scattering around his shoulders. Tariq had to lean slightly to the side to make room as Kane’s voice came through, “Besides, I’ve already felt the call. It won’t be long before I advance further in Blood River, then we can rid ourselves of the chains he’s placed around our necks, but not yet.”

Upon hearing Kane’s response, Tariq’s eyes suddenly brightened.

“Go, gather all our brothers first, then we’ll discuss the next plan.” Kane stepped through the gates of the Duel Arena, his figure disappearing into the light. Thinking of the designated location provided, he also felt a burning sensation in his heart. Traveling such a distant journey was certainly risky, but the rewards it promised were astonishing.

At this thought, Kane’s mind grew even hotter, nearly unable to restrain his violent, bloodthirsty desires.
