Chapter 23: I Do

As expected, at about eight in the evening, there was a knock on the door from the outside. After only three to four knocks, the door opened quickly and a figure entered. It was none other than the one whom Reese was familiar with—King.

“You’re finally here.”

King was a little surprised. This was the first time she had taken the initiative to speak to him since she had arrived at the hospital, and she even had an eager look on her face. Could it be that he had given her too much pleasure the last time, and now she was looking forward to his presence all day, constantly thinking about him?

“Hey, no, stop!”

Reese struggled to stop his next move as she held on to her shirt tightly, not giving the werebeast any chance to take it off. “I have important questions for you! Calm down first!”

“Okay, yeah. Tell me. I’m very calm.”

King sat on the bed while hugging Reese, with one arm around her waist and the other sneaking upwards. He merely gave a perfunctory reply as he rested his head on her shoulder, and continued his movements without stopping at all.

If this went on, she would not be able to control herself much longer. Anxious, Reese thought of a solution.

She was sitting on King’s lap at the moment. As long as he did not resist, she actually had a chance of pushing him onto the bed and thereby separating herself from him.

Hence, just when her bra was about to be unclasped, she suddenly exerted all of her strength and stopped him, by gripping his hands and preventing them from igniting fires all over her.

She turned around on his lap, her position changing from being cuddled to straddling him face to face now.

While she was thinking about how well her strategy was working, she seemed to have forgotten to consider the difference in their strengths.

Seeing that she was being so proactive today, King went along with it and made use of the momentum to act like he was being pressed down on the bed.

When their lower bodies pressed against each other, King couldn’t help but take a deep breath. He had not expected this girl to enjoy taking the initiative and playing rough.

But while he was preparing to see what other moves she had, she slid away from him instead, like a slippery little fish escaping his grip, without performing the R-rated actions he had had in mind.

She looked craftily at the confused King.

“Stop fooling around. I have serious business.” Reese turned and went to open a drawer.

“What’s so serious that you can’t talk while sitting here?”

He wanted to ask his next question—was it because his lap wasn’t comfortable enough? But instead, he became stunned by her action.

She had taken out a wisteria made from paper!

King’s heart was now beating even faster than it was a few moments ago when their groins had been pressed together!

“Have you… thought it through?” He asked her.

When Reese saw him mumbling like that, she wondered why he had such a big reaction to this flower.

“Well, this was what I wanted to ask about.” She handed King the flower.

He held it with a sacred expression, beaming from ear to ear, and even his eyes were smiling.

“Um, I do.” King was a little shy.

Reese looked completely puzzled, not understanding at all—What was this guy doing?

He noticed the look on her face, which was absent of any girlish shyness. There was only a frown and a look of utter confusion.

“Weren’t you giving this to me? Why are you still looking so reluctant? I don’t care, I’ve already accepted it anyway. Don’t try to take it back!”

King sounded extremely aggrieved. He had clearly checked with her earlier if she had really thought it through!

“I just wanted to ask you, what flower is this? Is there any significance to it?”

But Reese was really certain now. Since King had reacted so greatly even though it was just a fake flower, she already had a vague conjecture in mind.

“If you aren’t giving this to me, then who gave it to you? And why did you accept it?!”

This was driving King crazy.

“This was the artwork I needed to complete for my class this afternoon. I think it’s called the wisteria, right? I’ve already handed in the one I made. This one here was given to me by Mr. Gates.”
