While I was cooking, I didn’t know when Shang Yi had left. I only saw my Aunt again when I had just left the stove after preparing a bowl of egg noodles for myself.

As I ate noodles, she said to me, “Sixi, your necrogamy was successful. It will depend on your own fate as to whether it is a blessing or a curse in the future.”

I looked at her and smiled stupidly.

At that time, I didn’t know what it had to do with necrogamy, but Ming Si was an elder brother who looked quite handsome. When I thought of him, I would be in a good mood as though I had found a treasure that I could keep to mys.

Silly Er was the youngest son of the village head. When I was five years old, he was born with the appearance of a fool. In fact, he looked pretty handsome. If it were not for him being like a fool, probably all the little girls in the village would not laugh at him all the time.

I never laughed at Silly Er. When other children in the village ignored me, only Silly Er would play with me. He also said that I had beautiful eyes like rubies.

When it was getting dark, a few children went back home.

He smiled without anger and dragged me to the west of the village. Lin Xiao and Zi Yang, who were the closest to him, followed him. Silly Er followed slowly behind too.

“Where are you bringing me?” I tried to shake my hand free but was unable to escape from his fat grip.

He turned his head back and looked at me. Because of his fatness, his eyes were squeezed into two small slits. When he smiled, I could hardly see his eyes.

“Aren’t you able to see ghosts? We’re going to do an exploration mission. I heard from Lin Xiao’s dad that he saw ghost fire in the graveyard. I don’t know if what he said was right or wrong.”

His words made me frightened with cold sweat.

I quickly pushed him again and withdrew my hand back.

“I’m not going. You go by yourself.”

The Chubby Boy stumbled a few steps. I wanted to take the opportunity to run, but Lin Xiao and Zi Yang stopped me. These two boys were Chubby Boy’s henchmen. They were all bullies who stirred up troubles here and there.
