Su Hongxing gave Ye Qilan a cold look, while Ye Qilan put on a smile, “If you’re still upset, you can punish me by making me kneel on a washboard, okay?”

Su Hongxing couldn’t imagine the scene of Ye Qilan kneeling on a washboard.

But seeing Ye Qilan nervously trying to appease her, she sighed softly, “Let’s go back.”

Ye Qilan breathed a sigh of relief and immediately pulled Su Hongxing, swiftly walking out of the noisy bar.

He turned his gaze toward the car window. Seeing his prolonged silence, Su Hongxing turned to look and was met with the sharp profile of Ye Qilan’s face.

Her heart sank. It seemed her words had upset him again.

Maybe it was the things she said that made him unhappy, or maybe it was her actions. Either way, she was the source of his unhappiness.

“Don’t say anything. I don’t want to hear you talk right now. If I could let you go, I would have done so already.” Ye Qilan interrupted Su Hongxing coldly.

Su Hongxing didn’t know what to say for a while. It seemed like no matter what she said, it would anger Ye Qilan, as if everything was her fault.

After that, the car fell into complete silence.

After returning to Qingmu Garden, Su Hongxing and Ye Qilan didn’t speak anymore. They didn’t say goodnight to each other and simply went to their respective rooms to sleep.

In reality, neither of them fell asleep.

The next morning, Qiao Qiao opened her eyes and found herself lying in Ye Shiqing’s arms.

Qiao Qiao also realized something was off. Turning around to see Ye Shiqing, she wished she could just disappear out of sheer embarrassment.

“Su Hongxing, good morning!” Ye Shiqing greeted her calmly, showing no trace of being awkward at getting caught.

Su Hongxing cast a deep glance at Qiao Qiao and replied, “Morning.”

“Xiaoqiao, I have a headache; go make me some hangover soup,” Ye Shiqing ordered casually.

“I’m not your nanny! Why should I make you hangover soup?” Qiao Qiao snapped in frustration, her words flying out without filter.

Just then, the master bedroom door opened, and Ye Qilan stepped out. He radiated an air of cold detachment as he ignored everyone and walked downstairs.

Noticing Ye Qilan’s unusual demeanor, Qiao Qiao leaned closer to Su Hongxing and asked, “Did you upset Ye Qilan again?”

“Yeah, I manage to piss him off several times a day; even I’m impressed with myself,” Su Hongxing said with a bitter smile.

Indeed, Ye Qilan had been reduced to this state entirely because of Su Hongxing. No one else had the ability to turn Ye Qilan into such a “punching bag.”
