Ye Qilan found he couldn’t get any answers, so he stopped beating around the bush: “No one’s sent you flowers?”

“How do you know someone sent me flowers?” Su Hongxing asked back with a leisurely tone.

Ye Qilan was stumped and stammered, “I guessed.”

“Someone did send flowers, but I threw them in the trash.” Su Hongxing replied truthfully.

“Wife, how about you stop working? If you feel bored at home, why not work with me? That way, I can keep an eye on you.”

Although he knew Su Hongxing disliked him meddling in everything, he couldn’t help but worry. There were too many bad guys out there, and with her looks, trouble seemed inevitable. If he wasn’t careful, she might get stolen away by some other man.

“I quite like my current job. Xiaoqiao and Qingyin are here to help me, so you really don’t need to worry. I’m busy now, let’s leave it at that.” Fearing Ye Qilan would continue nagging, Su Hongxing decisively hung up the phone.

She originally thought the day would pass peacefully, but unexpectedly, just after lunch, someone sent more flowers.

The flowers delivered at noon were much more extravagant. In the morning, there had been only a single bouquet, but this time her entire desk couldn’t accommodate all the flowers.

“If Boss Ding finds out, he’ll probably chop up the person sending the flowers.” Xiaomei joked gleefully, always enjoying the drama.

Su Hongxing frowned and began to think about quickly disposing of all these flowers. With her understanding of Ye Qilan, he’d definitely show up as soon as possible.

What puzzled her most was who could be sending these flowers, especially choosing plum blossoms. After all, plum blossoms were Ye Qilan’s signature choice.

This act was practically a blatant provocation against Ye Qilan.

“Xiaoqiao, help me out and get rid of all these flowers.” Su Hongxing enlisted Qiao Qiao for help.

Qiao Qiao was busy searching for the flower card: “You don’t want to check who sent them before tossing them? Whoever it is, sending flowers three times a day–it’s probably all from the same person, right?”

“No need to check, I know there’s no name on the card. They’re playing a mind game, and I don’t care to guess.” Su Hongxing replied.

“Mom, the flowers are so pretty!” Little Pudding hugged the flowers tightly, unwilling to let go.

“Little Pudding, you help throw them too. If your dad shows up and sees these flowers, it’ll be trouble.” Su Hongxing worried about only this.

“Mom, give the flowers to me instead.” Little Pudding’s words made Qiao Qiao burst into laughter.

Liu Qingyin joined in to help carry the flowers out.

While everyone was busy handling them, Ye Qilan rushed in like a flaming whirlwind.

As soon as Su Hongxing saw Ye Qilan, she knew it was bad. She still had a huge bouquet in her arms, and the situation felt just like being caught red-handed.

Ye Qilan’s eyes darkened slightly as he took in the sight of Su Hongxing surrounded by a sea of flowers.

He walked heavily up to Su Hongxing, and before saying a word, she quickly explained, “I was just about to throw these flowers out, really–everyone’s helping me.”

She silently wanted to complain: How could he arrive so fast!

Suppressing his fury and jealousy, Ye Qilan took the flowers from her arms: “Let Qingyin and the others handle this kind of heavy work. You, come with me!”

“It’s fine, I can throw them out myself!” Su Hongxing didn’t want to be dragged away for a lecture at all.

“Su Hongxing, come with me!” Ye Qilan ordered in a calm but firm voice.

Frustrated, Su Hongxing shoved the flowers into Qiao Qiao’s hands and was dragged by Ye Qilan into the fire escape.

She murmured hesitantly, “Calm down. This really isn’t my fault. I have no idea who sent the flowers.”
