“I’m here.” Su Hongxing signaled Ye Qilan to let go of her hand.

Time always seemed to fly when she was with him. It felt like she had just gotten into the car, and in the blink of an eye, they had arrived at her workplace.

“No rush, sit for a bit longer before you go to work. Your company won’t close down without you, right?” Ye Qilan’s words left Su Hongxing speechless.

Was he implying that she was so insignificant that her presence or absence didn’t matter?

What she didn’t expect was that sitting for a “bit longer” would mean an hour. It wasn’t until Assistant Luo called Ye Qilan to tell him that the entire company was waiting for him to start the meeting that he reluctantly left.

As soon as Su Hongxing entered the company gate, she saw Qiao Qiao give her a teasing smile: “Pretty clingy, huh?”

Su Hongxing’s face turned red as she replied softly, “That’s just how he is.”

When they were dating, it would take him hours to drop her off at home. After they moved in together, he clung to her place without leaving.

Their relationship developed faster than most people’s; it felt like they had only just started cohabiting and he was already eager to marry her. She also remembered clearly all the little details of her time with Ye Qilan.

“You guys are really flaunting your love. Compared to you, other couples are just weak,” Qiao Qiao gave Su Hongxing a thumbs-up: “Look at you, glowing with happiness. Anyone with eyes can see you’re in a passionate love.”

This time Su Hongxing blushed even more anxiously, “Not true. We’re like an old married couple, where’s the passionate love in that?”

“Okay, if you say it’s not there, then it’s not.” Right after Qiao Qiao finished speaking, Su Hongxing’s phone rang.

She leaned in to see, and upon spotting Ye Qilan’s name, she couldn’t help but snicker: “He’s quite persistent in pursuing you, huh? Has he always been like this?”

Su Hongxing’s smile was a mixture of sweetness and helplessness: “To me, this is just the beginning.”

As it turned out, Su Hongxing was right; it was indeed just the beginning. Ye Qilan made more than a dozen calls to her throughout the morning, to the point that she even had to report to him when she went to the restroom.

All colleagues looked at Su Hongxing with knowing smiles, and even Little Pudding, upon hearing the ringtone, would excitedly say, “Daddy’s missing mommy again!”

Everyone tried to contain their laughter while Su Hongxing was too embarrassed to face anyone, wishing she could cover Little Pudding’s big mouth.

As it was nearing noon, Su Hongxing’s phone rang again. She stepped aside to answer the call, whispering, “Can you stop calling? Don’t you have work to do?”

Where did he get so much free time to keep calling her?

“Can’t I listen to your voice if I can’t see you? I’ll be there in five minutes. Let’s have lunch together,” Ye Qilan’s final sentence left Su Hongxing without a retort.

“Do you think we can get away from Xiaobu?” Just as Su Hongxing finished speaking, she felt something was off behind her.

She turned around to find Little Pudding staring at her with big round eyes: “Mommy can’t get rid of me.”

Su Hongxing talked with Ye Qilan for a few more moments. Yet, he didn’t want to hang up and wouldn’t let her disconnect the call. Only when Ye Qilan arrived did Su Hongxing dare to end the call.

Ye Qilan arrived holding a bunch of blooming apricot blossoms, handing them to Su Hongxing.

After receiving the flowers, Su Hongxing noticed everyone peeking and whispered, “Don’t send flowers anymore, it’s a waste of money.”

“I planted these flowers myself. How can you, woman, be so unromantic? When I give you flowers, you should accept them,” Ye Qilan pulled Su Hongxing close, trying to kiss her, but she dodged left and right.
