She made a phone call to Lin Zhi, telling her she had something urgent and couldn’t make their appointment.

After hearing this, Lin Zhi teased, “It can’t be that Ding Ye is keeping you trapped at home, can it?”

“Not at all, Sister Lin, stop making fun of me,” Su Hongxing didn’t tell the truth, of course.

Family scandals should not be publicized; the domestic issues between her and Ye Qilan didn’t need to be known by everyone.

She looked up at the sparse apricot blossoms overhead, feeling somewhat lost. She never sensed any malice from Lin Zhi; could such a woman really be the mastermind causing harm to them?

After receiving a message from Age, Ye Qilan came out and saw Su Hongxing sitting in a bamboo chair; the scene was beautiful, the scenery and the person even more so.

Seeing Su Hongxing like this, he hesitated to approach.

Su Hongxing looked up and saw Ye Qilan standing not far away.

Ye Qilan watched her back and wanted to follow her, but hesitated.

He knew it would make her angry, so why couldn’t he just give in for once? She has always been strong-willed, didn’t like being controlled, nor did she fancy domineering men, yet he couldn’t change his bad temper.

If things go on like this, would he push her further away?

Qiao Qiao was surprised to see Su Hongxing return, “Didn’t you say you were going out to meet Madam Ye?”

“Ye Qilan forbade me from going out, so I came back,” Su Hongxing hugged Little Baozi: “Don’t always stick with the child, go out more when you have time.”

“I like being with the child,” Qiao Qiao asked softly, “Are you upset that Ye Qilan is controlling you?”

“What’s there to be upset about? As he said, he means well for me, how could I refuse his goodwill?” Su Hongxing’s reply clearly carried a barb.

Qiao Qiao gave a dry laugh, unsure how to respond.

The complexities between Su Hongxing and Ye Qilan were not something she, as a bystander, had the right to comment on.

Before long, Ye Qilan also entered. Seeing Su Hongxing, he subtly approached her, leaning forward to look at the Little Baozi in her arms: “Our son is growing up so well.”
