Kyle and the other racers from the team had all arrived, standing in the hallway, looking at Lu You, who was still in a coma inside the hospital room–each face bore an uneasy expression.

Upon seeing Chi Gui approaching, Kyle was the first to stand up and greet her.

The racers from the other teams had all been trained by Chi Gui; at this moment, they too greeted her one after the other.

Chi Gui responded to each one, then took the day’s medical examination data about Lu You’s condition from Liu Shu, who had come upon hearing the news. Seeing that everything was stable, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Although last night’s surgery had been very successful, she couldn’t guarantee that with injuries like that, she’d be able to save him completely.

“He should wake up after some time,” Chi Gui returned the medical record book to Liu Shu, and said to Kyle, “As long as he wakes up, there shouldn’t be any big problems.”

Kyle nodded without saying anything.

But a racer from the team couldn’t help but curse, “Maxi is just too disgusting! He can’t compete with us fairly, so he resorts to these despicable methods!”

Kyle nodded and let out a sigh, “That’s the very manager who has always been competing with me. Chi Gui caught on to the key point, and her almond-shaped eyes suddenly grew colder, “Force him?”

“Yes, force him!” the previously angry racer pressed on, “Because Lu You kept refusing to join Maxi Team and also declined many requests from the higher-ups to help boost Maxi Team’s fame, the club’s top brass labeled him as a racer who couldn’t be controlled…”

Pausing, the racer continued, “Lu You is skilled, famous, and has the highest number of fans worldwide… Seeing that he wouldn’t comply, and worried that Manager Kyle might entice him to join another club’s racing team, they colluded with Maxi to force Lu You to take part in this race. Their initial aim was to ruin him!”

Kyle deeply sighed, “Lu You and I were aware that this race was very dangerous, but with our contracts with the club, they threatened us with breach of contract, so we had no choice but to compromise… Originally, Lu You was also prepared to run slowly in the race, directly forfeiting for safety… But we never imagined that the racer from that team wouldn’t even give him the chance to slow down, they went for him with the intention of killing Lu You from the very start!”

Chi Gui listened quietly to their words, her fingers gently tapping on the palm of her hand, remaining silent.

Just then, a brash, sneering voice came from the end of the hallway, “Eh, isn’t that Manager Kyle? I heard that your ace racer, Lu You, was seriously injured unto death? This is truly unfortunate… The club’s higher-ups heard the news and immediately sent me to show concern for you all.”

These words were said with utmost sarcasm. Kyle and the racers next to him all hardened their expressions, turning their heads to look down the hallway, “Maxi.”

Following them, Chi Gui turned her head and saw a line of about a dozen people coming out of the elevator, the man at the forefront tall, dressed in the club manager’s uniform, his face sporting a cocky smile riddled with overt malice.

As if Maxi hadn’t seen the sour faces of Kyle and the others, he walked to the side of the hospital room, peered through the glass window, and clucked his tongue, “Tsk, tsk, turned into a Mummy, what a pity!”
