To get their hands on Yun Wei’s diamond necklace, Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha went all out to find ways and means to track down the jewelry that they’d either sold or pawned.

They found the places where they’d peddled Yun Wei’s jewelry for low prices and, relying on some photos, asked to buy back what they’d sold.

Lu Zhanting, in a black sedan, slowed down and parked by the curb. When he noticed Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha, a slight frown formed on his face.

What were those two doing at the Lu family’s jewelry store?

His personal attendant noticed his expression and knew what he was thinking. He immediately made a call to find out what was going on and, after a brief interval, reported, “Sir, apparently Bai Wenping and Hua Shasha are trying to buy back some jewelry that they recently sold. These are photos of the jewelry.”

Lu Zhanting glanced at the jewelry in the photos and recognized them. Most of the pieces were in the style of the Yun jewelers.

His brows furrowed. He wondered if this meant that all these pieces of jewelry had actually come from Yun Wei.

Or, perhaps they had scammed the jewelry off of the recently injured Yun Wei.

If so, why did they now want the jewelry back?

Lu Zhanting instructed, “Triple the price for their repurchase.”

Hua Shasha jumped in shock when the sales representative told her the repurchase price. “What’s this all about? We sold these to you for a lot less than that. Why is the repurchase price triple?”

“Sorry, but that is our company policy,” the sales rep responded officiously.

“Get me the manager! I want to see your manager!” Hua Shasha yelled.

Bai Wenping held her back, saying, “Forget it. After all, we’d be using Yun Wei’s credit card. Who cares if the price is higher?”

Hua Shasha stood aside, still fuming from the unfairness of it all, while Bai Wenping pulled out Yun Wei’s credit card and said, “Put it on this card.”

The sales rep accepted the card but quickly returned and said, “Sorry, Sir. Your card has expired and cannot be used.”

“What?” Bai Wenping was stunned. Pulling out another one of Yun Wei’s cards, he said, “Try this one.”

“I’m sorry, sir. This one has also expired,” the sales rep informed him politely but emotionlessly.

Bai Wenping was flabbergasted. “Can’t be used? Has it been canceled?”

The two cards were Yun Wei’s. Had she discovered something was amiss?

Hua Shasha shook her head, saying, “When I left her earlier, she was still a halfwit. It’s highly likely that the Yun family has frozen all her cards.”

Anxiously, Bai Wenping asked, “So what do we do now? We need at least ten million to repurchase the jewelry. Where are we going to find that kind of money?”

“But if we want that priceless diamond necklace, we have to get all of her jewelry back,” Hua Shasha pointed out. At this stage, she was still dreaming of making it rich and was completely oblivious to the fact that she’d been caught by Yun Wei.

Bai Wenping came up with a plan. “Then we just have to raise the money somehow. I’ll do my part, and you do yours. We should also ask our families for help.”

Although Hua Shasha was reluctant to fork over any money of her own, she decided that she’d do whatever was necessary for that diamond necklace.

The pair went their separate ways to try and raise the money they needed to redeem Yun Wei’s jewelry, even going so far as to shamelessly plead for it.

Meanwhile, Yun Wei was having a great time relaxing at home, eating good food, and doing some online shopping.

The feeling of betrayal that she’d felt from being stabbed in the back by her boyfriend and her bestie had subsided.
