At Hua Shasha’s words, a few of the classmates immediately agreed with her. “If Yun Wei’s really done this, then she has gone too far.”

Loudly, Hua Shasha demanded, “Yun Wei, you’ve deliberately ruined Zhifei’s birthday party. Why don’t you apologize now and get lost?”

Assuming that Yun Wei was still suffering from the effects of her head injury, Hua Shasha manipulated her at will. All it took was for her to get stern with Yun Wei and she would obediently comply.

But, unexpectedly, this time Yun Wei wasn’t obedient.

With a hurt look on her face, Yun Wei blinked, and her expressive eyes opened wide as she protested, “I did not.” Pretending that she had no clue what was going on, Yun Wei exclaimed pitifully, “I was just wearing my own necklace. I didn’t come here with the intention to cause trouble….”

Yun Wei was a pretty, young girl and exceptionally adorable. Some of the men saw the pretty Yun Wei in her pitiable state and couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. “It looks like Yun Wei didn’t do this on purpose. Hua Shasha, why don’t you back off with your accusations?”

“Yes, I didn’t do this on purpose,” Yun Wei continued to protest, nodding her head vigorously like a kid.

Now livid, Hua Shasha pushed on, “You obviously came here wearing a fake necklace with the intention to cause trouble here, and yet you’re still trying to deny it?”

“My necklace isn’t a fake. My Auntie Ji gave this to me…” Yun Wei said with a pout, continuing to feign ignorance.

Angrily, Hua Shasha ordered, “Stop talking nonsense. Come here now and apologize!”

“I’m just wearing my own necklace. I didn’t do anything on purpose,” Yun Wei persisted, shaking her head.

Angrily, Hua Shasha stepped forward, intending to twist Yun Wei’s arm to force her to submit.

A few of the men blocked Hua Shasha from Yun Wei, saying, “Hua Shasha, assuming Yun Wei’s necklace actually was a gift from her family, she can’t be blamed if it looks exactly like Zhifei’s.”

“Whose side are you on, Yun Wei’s or Zhifei’s?” Hua Shasha demanded to know in a display of bravado. “In case you’ve forgotten, you’re attending Zhifei’s birthday party!”

“But the necklace that I’m wearing is my own,” Yun Wei insisted again.
