Feng Jiu couldn’t bear to think about what would happen if Xuanyuan Mo Ze failed to advance. If he failed, it wouldn’t just mean the loss of strength or cultivation–it could cost him his very life.

What they didn’t know was that Old Man Tianji, despite his simple and unassuming appearance, had effortlessly entered the island without being stopped by the boundary.

“Could it be that Feng Jiu or Xuanyuan Mo Ze is advancing?” one of the monarchs who had gathered asked, his curiosity piqued.

“They’ve caused such a commotion–it must be them advancing,” another replied. “But both of them are at the peak of the Divine King level. If they were to advance any further, they could become Supreme-level beings, and that level of power is incredibly rare.”

“Maybe it’s not that they’re advancing. I heard they’ve been traveling around the Mortal Realm recently, so how could they suddenly return and be in the midst of such an advancement? Besides, they’ve been at the Divine King level for such a short time–it’s impossible for them to advance so quickly.”

“If they’re not advancing, then what else could explain all of this?”

The monarchs exchanged uncertain glances. After a long pause, one of them suggested, “Rather than standing here with no answers, we should visit the Black Tortoise Monarch. He’s on better terms with Feng Jiu and Xuanyuan Mo Ze, so he might have some insight.”

“That’s a good idea,” another monarch agreed, and they all swiftly flew off in the direction of the Black Tortoise Monarch’s territory.

Meanwhile, Feng Jiu remained unaware of the monarchs’ discussions outside the levitating island. She was completely focused on Xuanyuan Mo Ze’s advancement. As Old Man Tianji had said, this wasn’t a simple matter of just three lightning tribulations. Since the moment Old Man Tianji had appeared, four lightning tribulations had already struck.

Over the past few days, one lightning tribulation had fallen each day, each more intense than the last. After enduring four strikes, Xuanyuan Mo Ze sat on the mountaintop, his robes scorched black and his once-neat hair now disheveled and tangled.

“The fifth lightning tribulation is coming,” Feng Jiu murmured under her breath, her eyes filled with worry.

Each of these lightning tribulations was far stronger than anything they had experienced before. Even when she herself had advanced to the Divine King level, she had never faced such overwhelming and powerful tribulations. And now, there weren’t just three tribulations–there were ninety-nine hundred and eighty-one to endure.
