Three short and one long knocks were the secret signals between him and Cao Ling. He frowned and got up. When he got off the bed, he did not forget to help the woman tidy up the blanket. When this action was done instinctively, he realized what he had done.

Gu Mingcheng didn’t lie on the bed after returning to his room. Instead, he stood by the window and looked at the moon outside while deep in thought. It was only when the sky lit up that he laid down beside Ye Zhiqing and pretended to be half-asleep.

Ye Zhiqing rubbed her head and opened her eyes to look at the unfamiliar ceiling above her. For a moment, she couldn’t react. She only came back to her senses when everything that happened yesterday surfaced in her mind.

The arm around her waist made her realize that she had really “picked up” a man yesterday. She hurriedly lifted the blanket and saw that her clothes were still intact even though they were a little messy. She heaved a sigh of relief and turned around to face Gu Mingcheng, who had opened his eyes.

“Hi!” Ye Zhiqing didn’t know what to say. She could only wave her hand and greet him, but it seemed to be even more awkward.

Gu Mingcheng sat up without any reservations and supported his head with his hand as he laid beside her. He said lazily, “Yesterday, when we were about to do something, you fell asleep.”

Ye Zhiqing paused and turned to look at Gu Mingcheng. “You lost your job?”

In the situation at the bar yesterday, this man followed her so easily. She could only think that he was the type of person who did special work at the bar.
