Chapter 23: How Dare You Hit Me?

“If you don’t shut up, I’ll do whatever you’re afraid of!” Beiming Han yelled as his arms tightened around her.

Gu Qingxin’s face turned pale from fright and she stopped moving. Last night’s experience was so horrifying that she did not wish to go through it again.

Beiming Han left the bedroom with Gu Qingxin. The moment he walked through the door, he saw Huangfu Ye and Bai Jingqing. When they saw him emerge, their gazes were drawn to the girl in his arms.

“Han, you woke up so early!” Although Huangfu Ye had seen Gu Qingxin last night, he was too far away to get a clear look. He wished he could pull her off Beiming Han and examine her.

He was curious as to what kind of girl could provoke his usually calm friend into behaving so abnormally.

“Han, do you need any help?” Bai Jingqing did not dare to be as brazen as Huangfu Ye. However, his gaze kept drifting to the girl in Beiming Han’s arms as well.

Due to Beiming Han’s grip on Gu Qingxin, she was concealed in his embrace that made it impossible for bystanders to get a good look at her.

He swept his cold, wolf-like gaze over the two men. When he spoke, his tone was mild but still felt inexplicably threatening. “Are the both of you free?”

Both men grew rigid as they shook their heads unanimously.

“No, not at all. There are many things to deal with at my company.” Huangfu Ye understood Beiming Han all too well. If he continued to linger, he would get into trouble.

“A-And I have a surgery to attend to,” Bai Jingqing said with a cough before the two men quickly fled.

Since there were strangers around, Gu Qingxin did not dare move. She was also afraid that they might see what she looked like and deliberately buried her face in his chest.

She only sighed in relief and allowed herself to relax after the departure of both strangers. Her body started to hurt again, the pain seemed to penetrate her bones, and her tears started to fall again.

Beiming Han lowered his head to look at the petite girl in his arms. She was soft, delicate, and tinged pink, just like a kitten. Tears streamed down the corners of her eyes endlessly. The sight of her looking so pitiful made him wish he could throw her back onto the bed and ravage her fiercely again.

Frowning slightly, he inadvertently quickened his pace.

Beiming Han took Gu Qingxin into a bathroom, put her on a chair next to the bathtub, and removed the blanket that was wrapped around her.

“What are you doing? Go away, don’t touch me!” Gu Qingxin exclaimed as she slapped Beiming Han’s face in a moment of agitation.

They were both instantly taken aback. Gu Qingxin was also shocked by her own actions as she stared nervously at her own hand.

“You!” A surge of anger filled Beiming Han’s heart. Most of the women he encountered obeyed him completely in hope that they could retain his affection and draw his attention.

Gu Qingxin was the first woman who had refused him again and again. Not to mention, she had just slapped him.

This was Beiming Han’s first time getting hit by a woman.

“I didn’t mean to do that… Ah… I just want to go home,” Gu Qingxin said as she started to cry again.

Beiming Han took a deep breath. How dare she act like the aggrieved party here when he was the one who had just been slapped?

He violently suppressed his urge to strangle her to death, picked her up roughly, walked quickly to the bathtub, and placed her in the water.
