There were muffled grunts followed by sharp screams. Gu Huaian slapped Gu Qingxin, his face contorted with anger as he said, “Evil girl! How can you be so vicious? Your older sister is pregnant!”

Zhou Mantong had tried to convince him to marry Gu Qingxin off to the second son of the Meng family so that she would give up on Tang Rongling. Initially, Gu Hauian had felt rather hesitant. A loud slap interrupted him.

Gu Qingxin slowly put her hand down. Her eyes were dry, but her voice trembled slightly as she said, “Tang Rongling, I thought that even if you didn’t love me, you should at least understand me since we grew up together! Now it seems like that was just wishful thinking!”
