Cheng Zhiyan seemed a little ill at ease as he looked at her. So he turned his head and raised his voice to answer her. He said, “How could I make up my mind about something like this in just a few days?”

“Oh, okay. Then how many days will it take you?” Zhou Yue continued to ask Cheng Zhiyan these questions in a teasing manner.

“I…” Cheng Zhiyan was just about to answer his mother when a hysterical voice could be heard through the window behind him. “Brother Orange Juice, have you gone to bed already? Didn’t we agree that we were going to sleep together? How could you go to sleep before I got there?”

PUFF! “Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!” Zhou Yue couldn’t control herself and she burst out laughing in front of her son. “Seems like your little girlfriend still has you on her mind. Maybe you should hurry up and invite her over here…”

Just as Xiaotu was about to begin her third round of screeching at the top of her lungs, Zhou Ling dragged her away from the balcony and back to her room.

“What are you doing!?” She didn’t know whether to cry or to laugh as she stared at her daughter. She crossed her arms on her chest and she scowled. “What did Mommy just tell you? Brother Orange Juice has already gone to bed, and you’ll wake him up if you continue shouting and roaring like this.”

“I just wanted to see if he had really gone to bed yet…” Xiaotu raised her pretty little baby face up and stared at her mother innocently.

“You…” Zhou Ling was just about to start lecturing her when she heard the doorbell ringing.

“Someone is ringing the doorbell. I’ll go see who it is. You stay right here and wait for me.” She patted Xiaotu on the head and was about to go answer the door. However, Xiaotu wouldn’t stop clinging to her leg. “I want to go see who’s at the door too!”

Xiaotu blinked her large eyes at her mother. “Brother Orange Juice must be here to pick me up to go to his house.”

“Can you carry all this stuff? Do you want Mommy to help you carry it?” Just as Xiaotu’s mother was about to reach out and retrieve the milk bottle from Xiaotu’s arms, Xiaotu’s body swerved away from her. “No, I want to hold them all by myself.”

After going down the stairs and opening the door, Zhou LIng saw Cheng Zhiyan standing outside. She was caught off guard a bit, and she asked in bewilderment, “Yan Yan, what’s going on?”

“Hi Auntie.” Cheng Zhiyan appeared somewhat ill at ease as he gazed at Xiaotu’s mother. Then he said somewhat awkwardly, “Um…I’m here to pick up Xiaotu.”

“Brother Orange Juice!” The instant Xiaotu caught sight of Cheng Zhiyan, she broke into a huge smile and was about to fling herself into his arms. Had it not been for Zhou Ling, who’d seen what was happening and had swiftly held her back firmly at the last minute, Cheng Zhiyan would most probably have been squashed.
