“Oh, by the way, Cheng Zhiyan, I have something for you,” Xia Feng said as he ate the watermelon, as if he had suddenly remembered something.

He rushed over to his book bag and started digging through it until he finally pulled out something that appeared to be a letter. Then he ran back toward Cheng Zhiyan.

“What’s that?” Cheng Zhiyan kept on calmly eating the watermelon he was holding, as he glanced at Xia Feng in a nonchalant manner.

“It’s that love letter.” Xia Feng handed Cheng Zhiyan the letter he’d taken out of his book bag.

Xiaotu’s eyes were popping out with curiosity as she glanced toward the thing that Xia Feng was passing to Cheng Zhiyan.

It was a pale pink envelope tied up with a red ribbon. Cheng Zhiyan’s name had been written on it with a red pen, and there was a pretty red heart that had been drawn on the envelope behind his name.

“What does this say?” Xiaotu pointed to the three characters written on the envelope and asked Xia Feng.

“This says Brother Orange Juice’s name, Cheng Zhiyan.” Xia Feng glanced down at where Xiaotu was pointing, and then he said, somewhat amused, “This little rascal doesn’t recognize her characters yet.”

HMPH! “When I grow up I will be able to recognize characters.” Xiaotu blinked her eyes and carefully examined the three characters that spelled out Cheng Zhiyan’s name. She had just come to the realization that this was how Brother Orange Juice’s name was correctly spelled. So the first two characters meant orange juice…and the last character meant salt…?

Cheng Zhiyan glanced down at the love letter in Xia Feng’s hand and grew silent for a moment. Then he reached out to grab the love letter and promptly tossed it in the trash bin underneath the table.

“Hey, hey, Cheng Zhiyan! What are you doing?” Upon seeing this beautiful pink love letter being tossed in the trash bin, Xia Feng couldn’t help but shout loudly, “You should at least open it to see who it’s from. Someone took a lot of effort to make this. Do you have any idea how rude your actions are?”

“I have no interest.” Cheng Zhiyan finished his last bite of the watermelon, threw the rind of the watermelon into the trash bin under the table also, and stood up to walk into the kitchen to wash his hands. Only then did he ask Xia Feng, “Isn’t it time for you to go home?”

“But I just got here…” Xia Feng replied, with a half-eaten piece of watermelon in his hands as he stared at Cheng Zhiyan with a dumbfounded expression.

Only Xia Feng and Xiaotu remained in the living room.

After remaining silent for a little while, Xia Feng turned and looked at Xiaotu and asked, “Does Brother Orange Juice always act like this?”

“Yes. He always does his homework as soon as he gets back from school.” Xiaotu nodded her head as she said, “You mustn’t disturb him during this time.”

“Oh…so that’s why this guy always gets excellent grades…” Xia Feng nodded pensively as he reflected upon the fact that he always played first when he got home. Then after playing, he would eat, and after eating, he would start playing again. He never started doing his homework until it was almost bedtime.

“Brother Wind, do you still want to eat watermelon?” Xiaotu stared at the last piece of watermelon on the plate as she anxiously asked Xia Feng.

“Huh? No, I’ve finished. I’m not eating anymore. You may eat it.” After finishing his piece of watermelon, Xia Feng took a few napkins from the table, wiped his mouth, and stood up as he said to Xiaotu, “Little midget, I’m going home now. I’ll come over again tomorrow to play with you.”

“Okay.” Xiaotu nodded as she continued to munch on her watermelon.
