Chapter 26: Joining the Filming Crew

After Mila returned home, she immediately called Laila back and told her about the audition today. Generally speaking, if one was called off before the performance was over it meant the judges were dissatisfied, and there was a high chance one wouldn’t have a chance.

When she thought about how Laila had painstakingly chosen the script for her, Mila felt she had disappointed Laila and couldn’t help but feel a little upset.

“Mila, I was about to call you. Director said you performed very well. It was quite inspiring.”

“And I’ve hired someone to come to the house and take care of my flowers once every three days.”

Chaucer frowned. “I’ll take care of them for you. You don’t need anyone else.”

“Are you sure you know how to take care of flowers?” Mila looked at him in surprise. “Those roses and tulips are very delicate. When watering them, you have to water them along the edge of the flower pot. Generally speaking, you have to water them once every three days. If the weather is too hot, make it every two days. As for those succulents, they can withstand drought. You only need to water them once a week and not more often than that.

“And the gardenia at the door…”

Mila talked for a long time about taking care of flowers, but she realized Chaucer wasn’t listening at all.

“Chaucer, are you listening to me?”

Mila was speechless. She said angrily, “Then what should we do? You can’t remember. Why don’t you let me hire someone to water the flowers!”

The next day, Mila received a notice to join the production team. Rosy had already booked a plane ticket for her, and the two of them agreed to meet at the airport.

Laila was only working with Mila and another female actor right now. The latter was pregnant and had turned down all her work, so Laila put all her effort into Mila and decided to join the production team with her.

Mila opened the suitcase, put her own bed sheet on the bed, and hung her clothes in the closet. After that, she was so tired that she couldn’t keep her eyes open. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
