Chaucer drove back to his hotel after a meeting. He took a shower and leaned against the sofa in a bathrobe with his eyes closed.

“Sir, Mrs. Chapman posted a few photos of the bedroom on the internet,” Jason, Chauser’s assistant suddenly said.

“I didn’t know mom still had the time to do that.”

Jason wanted to sigh. “I’m talking about your wife, Mrs. Mila Chapman.”

Only then did Chaucer remember he was already married. He reached out to Jason and took the cell phone. “Let me see the photos.”

Her ID was “Milassima”, and the latest update was a few photos of the bedroom, which had cozy decoration.

Chaucer asked in confusion, “Jason, do all women like this childish color combination?”

There were several houses under his name, and all were decorated in a simple style. Most of the color themes were black, white, and gray. Pink, yellow, and blue were almost never seen in the houses.

From what Chaucer knew, only children would like those colors.

“I don’t know much either, but I think Mrs. Chapman decorated the room very well! Sir, it’s getting late. There’s an early meeting tomorrow. I’ll go back to my room. Please don’t stay up too late.”

The suite quieted down. Chaucer picked up his phone and searched for Milassima’s username. He opened Mila’s account and scrolled through her past posts.

Judging from the photos and videos she posted, she was a quiet and gentle woman who liked to cook and raise flowers. She paid a lot of attention to daily rituals.

However, what was posted online must be what Mila wanted everyone to see. Chaucer couldn’t be sure this was the true Mila. After all, she was an actress. Life was like a show, and it all depended on acting skills. He could only wait and see if it was true.

Half a month later, at three in the morning, Chaucer came out of the first-class cabin of the capital airport. Jason pushed his luggage and followed behind him. The two of them quickly arrived at the parking lot.

A black Porsche was already waiting there. Seeing Chaucer, the chauffeur immediately opened the door. He took the luggage from Jason and placed it in the trunk.

After getting into the car, the chauffeur asked, “Sir, are you going back to the old residence or Dragon Bay?”

Chaucer thought for a moment and said, “Dragon Bay.”

He and Mila were newlyweds. The day they got their marriage certificate, he went on a business trip and only came back after half a month. Logically speaking, he should go back home and take a look. He was worried Mila would turn the house into that kind of childish color.

Half an hour later, the car stopped at the entrance of the building. Jason got out of the car and took out the luggage.

“Sir, let me walk you up.”

“Don’t bother. Go home and have some rest. Be at the office at nine o’clock sharp tomorrow morning.” With that, Chaucer carried his suitcase and entered the unit.

“Yes, sir!”

Jason had been Chaucer’s assistant for three years and was already used to the workaholic. They had been busy for so many days. He still had to wake up early to work the next day when he got off the plane in the middle of the night.

He was already so rich, but he was still so hardworking. No wonder he could become the president.

Chaucer got to the sixth floor with the luggage and took out his key to open the door. At the entrance were a pair of men’s slippers and a pot of white gardenias, which emitted a faint fragrance.

It was almost four in the morning. Chaucer was a workaholic. No matter how late he stayed up the night before, he would wake up at seven the next day. He would run for half an hour in the morning and go home to take a shower. After breakfast, he would dress up and go to work. Therefore, he had to sleep as soon as possible to ensure his work condition the next day.

Chaucer didn’t turn on the lights. With the light outside the window, he took off his coat and took out a can of soda from the fridge.

At this moment, Mila, who was in the bedroom, suddenly woke up. She became nervous when she heard the strange sound coming from the living room.

Mila had just woken up from her sleep and was still in a daze. She had long forgotten she had a husband and thought someone had broken in to steal something. She was instantly frightened.

She tiptoed out of bed and picked up the lamp beside her to protect herself. She gently pushed open the bedroom door and saw a black shadow sneaking around the living room.

“What a bold thief! How dare you steal from me? Don’t blame me for this!”

Mila encouraged herself in her head. She walked to the living room barefoot and threw the lamp at the black shadow when it wasn’t paying attention.

She decided to subdue the bad guys before calling the police.
