“Let’s divorce.”

He looked at me as he tried to blow out the candle.

The fourth wedding anniversary cake was placed between me and my husband. It was a ceremonial anniversary. He despised me, but on our anniversaries, he always sat face to face and celebrated with me. It seemed like he was always there for me.

“You don’t have to act anymore. Because I’m going to let you go now.”

“…… What’s the reason?”

His voice was calm. I looked up at him. He had never smiled once while congratulating. There was a cold energy on his completely expressionless face.

It was the way he always looked at me. Even now, five years after our marriage.

I remembered the day I first met him. I thought he looked like a really beautiful golden hawk. The white uniform he wore, the blond hair that shone beautifully under the lights of the chandelier.

I wanted this gorgeous, beautiful man by my side. I felt like my life could be saved if I had him.

He was the first greed I had ever had in my life.

But now I know.

“Because I can’t have you even if I die.”

I know that no matter what I do, I will never be able to have him, even if I break his wings and threaten the woman he regards as life, even if that was how he knelt  before me.

Even if I take out his heart and place it next to me.

That means I can never have his heart.

The amber eyes that had always been full of hatred were now looking at me with a slightly different light of determination.
