Chapter 228 – “What is that and why are there so many people over there?” (1)

During the entire period time, almost everyone in class gave Gu Xi a sympathetic look.

Gu Xi separated out the exercise books by category and happily placed them inside her drawer and her storage cabinet in the back of the classroom.

Then, thinking about it some, she forward the photo of her in first place that had been passed around her classmates over to Gu Shao.

Gu Shao was in a meeting at NTN.

Feeling the vibration from his cellphone, Gu Shao glanced over at the screen. He only picked up his phone and opened up Gu Xi’s text after he saw that it was a text from her.

The person from the R&D department of ARC chip was reporting their progressing at the time ­– owing to some technical difficulties, their product development was a month behind schedule.

They were already prepared that their boss would be tearing them a new one when they realized that their boss had no activated the tearing into people mode after their team lead had finished his report and the technology analysis.

In addition, was he seeing things from nervousness? He seemed to have seen a smile on their boss?

Quickly, the people in the conference room noticed that: Yes, their boss did smile, but that had absolutely nothing to do with them.

Gu Shao, as he listened to the report from the vice team lead, glanced over one more tie at the grade announcement that Gu Xi had sent over. The name “Gu Xi” was very eye-catching, along with the number “1” in front of it.

On the other hand, Gu Feng and Gu Xian, who were at their own post and a certain Gu’s estate, respectively, were surprised when they received the message from Gu Shao.

After all, it was not everyday when their second brother would text them.

They had initially thought that it was some serious Gu family business. They only discovered that Gu Shao was inviting them to head over to school with him for the parent-teacher conference after they read his message!

“Here I thought something serious had happened……” grumbled Gu Xian with his phone still in his hand. He also grumbled to himself, Second Brother was becoming more and more different than he used to be.

Besides, as simple as Gu Shao had put it, Gu Xian could still detect a hint of gloat between the lines.

Apparently, Gu Feng, from his end, felt the same way as well.

Regardless, as much as they were grumbling about it, the two still happily accepted Gu Shao’s invitation after reading his message.

Gu Xi, too, received the reply from Gu Shao.

Gu Xi scrolled her chat screen up and down a few times to make sure that that was truly all Gu Shao had said to her.

She waited for a few extra seconds before a new message came in: [Pay attention in class.]

Four of the morning classes had gone by and Gu Xi was still dazed with her cellphone in hand.

Seeing the state that Gu Xi was in, Dong Mingming immediately gave her a sympathetic look and grabbed her hand.
