Freya said nothing. She simply smiled at Ashley. “Forget it. I would rather spend time cultivating our relationship.”
Ashley burst out laughing.

She said, “Do you think I’m dumb? I know you are still thinking about the man who left a mark on your chest.”
Freya did not quite understand what Ashley meant and asked, “What do you mean?”

Ashley tured to glance at her before she smiled and said, “You have a scar on your chest. It has been over three years, but that man has never appeared. You aren’t even sure if he is the man you keep thinking of. It’s really time to let it go.”

“Who says I’m not sure? We exchanged a token to prove it
“are you talking about the drawing you did when you were five years old?”

Freya blushed. “Stop talking about it.”

Ashley was naturally not about to stop talking. “No one would believe this if they heard it. You had a crush when you were very young, but instead of letting it go you have held onto it for years. You had a crush from the time you were three years old until now, when you are in your twenties!”
Freya leaned into the seat and pretended to be sleepy. “Hurry up and drive. If I get there late, Gideon is probably going to give me an earful.”

Ashley rolled her eyes at her. “I don’t know why you are letting him do this to you. The man is crazy. He would rather spend his time thinking about a vegetable than be with you.”

Freya was speechless.

She simply pretended not to hear anything when Ashley complained about her marriage.

After some time, Ashley stopped talking.

Freya finally turned to look at her. “Thank you for being my driver today.”

“Uh huh. You are welcome.” Ashley raised an eyebrow at Freya.

Meanwhile, at the Carter residence.
Gideon was sitting on the couch as Charles stared at him angrily.

The eldest son, Ethan Carter, was chatting with his wife Rebecca Thompson, while Issac Carter looked at Gideon sadly.

Their youngest sister, Madison Carter, paid no attention and kept texting people on her phone.

Evelyn Carter finally glanced at her husband Charles and helped ease the atmosphere by suggesting. “Why don’t you try calling Freya?”

“Her phone is off. It is a waste of time to try calling her.” Gideon remained nonchalant.

Charles rolled his eyes at Gideon before he took the phone and called Freya.

Gideon did not even bother to look at his father and seemed confident he would not be able to get through.

However, Charles quickly said, “Are you almost here?”

He was dumbstruck.

“Drive safe. Take your time.”

He was truly dumbstruck.

After Charles hung up the phone, Gideon looked at his father in disbelief.

Charles said coldly, “You are newlyweds. You aren’t even bothered enough to give her a call?”

Isaac laughed and said, “Dad, it’s true. It was impossible to get through earlier. I saw Gideon calling her several times.”

“Stop encouraging him. Why would I believe you?”

“Fine. Just pretend I said nothing.” Isaac felt powerless. He was speaking the truth. Why did he lose credibility because he spoke up for Gideon?

Madison lowered her head and played with her phone as she said nonchalantly, “My second older sister-in-law is undoubtedly a bigshot. Everyone is waiting for her to show up and both my brothers got scolded because of her. I don’t remember this happening when Rebecca married Ethan.”
She shook her head powerlessly when she was done speaking.

Ethan and Rebecca looked at each other before Rebecca said, “Madison, she was probably held up by something, It happens sometimes, so don’t take it to heart.”
“She has Dad’s backing, so I would never dare.”

Gideon stood up angrily. “Since she is nearly here, I will go out to get her.”
