How could Ashley send someone else to attend the matchmaking session on behalf of her?

Ashley chased Freya when she did not reply. “Say something, will you?”

“Are you sure this is okay? I am already married.”

“Everything will be just fine. You were only recently married, so no one will be able to tell the difference.”

Just as Freya was about to answer, her phone suddenly vibrated. She held up her phone and saw it was out of battery.

By the time Gideon had gotten back to the Carter Group after he had dumped Freya in the middle of nowhere, an hour had passed.
Shortly after he exited the lift, his secretary came over and said, “Mr. Carter, someone is waiting for you in the office.”

“Who?”

His secretary smiled excitedly with her eyes glinting. “The superstar Jerry.”

Gideon glanced at the office and surprisingly smiled a little.

He strode into the office and quickly saw the man sitting on the couch playing with an iPad.

The man heard the door open, so he put down his iPad and raised his hand to greet Gideon. “Hello, my second older brother.”

Gideon took off his suit jacket and threw it on the couch. “When did you get back in town?”

“Just today. I was filming in Australia, but Dad summoned us for dinner tonight, so I came back.”

Gideon paused and asked, “Does this mean our older brother is coming back from the army as well?”

The man smiled as he shook his head. “It does not stop there. Even our little sister studying in the USA has come home.”

Gideon frowned and said, “Why though? What’s the big deal?”

“Are you playing dumb here?”

Gideon narrowed his eyes. “What do you mean?”

“Dad said you got married. Although it is a secret marriage, we still have to have a reunion dinner as a family. You are the main attraction tonight. I don’t know why you are asking me these strange questions.”
Gideon’s face instantly froze.

Was everyone back because he just got married?

This meant he had to bring Freya over. However, the woman said the next bus from Mount Plenty for Ocean City would only arrive at 6:00 p.m.

He looked at the man on the couch. “What time is dinner?”

‘The man shrugged. “8:00 pm at the main Carter residence.”

Gideon walked over to the window, took out his phone, and called Freya’s phone number, but all he got was a message saying her phone was off.

Gideon raised his hand and rubbed his brow. Moments later, he turned to take the suit jacket from the couch and headed out the door.

‘The man sitting on the couch watched as Gideon left and asked, “Gideon, where are you going?”

But Gideon was already gone.

Since Freya’s phone was off, Gideon could only drive over to Mount Plenty and pick her up.

He finished the entire route in an hour’s drive, but Freya was nowhere to be seen.

Did she get lost?

This woman was genuinely out to get him!

After Ashley brought Freya back to the city, the two of them went to a restaurant for lunch.
Ashley looked at Freya and asked over lunch, “Are you doing it?”

“Huh?” Freya was lost.

“are you helping me go for the matchmaking session?”

Freya looked at the woman in front of her. For a moment, she did not know what to say. Should she help her or not?

Ashley started to claim credit. “I have not complained once when I went all the way to Mount Plenty to pick you up. I would never have done it for anyone else.”
Freya bit her lip as she glanced at Ashley. She smiled and said, “Ashley, if I promise to help, can you help me again?”

Ashley promptly answered, “Even if you do not help me, I will still help you!”

“You are the best!”

“That goes without saying. Tell me. What do you need help with?”
