Suddenly, they heard the thundering sound of footsteps outside the house. Judging by the racket they were making, there were many people at the door.
Soon after, there was a loud banging on the door.
“Anyone there?”
Song Wenxin did not even get the chance to respond before the door was unceremoniously kicked down!
There were at least a dozen men, all dressed weirdly in black and wielding knives or guns.
“Boss!” As soon as they saw the critically wounded man lying on the floor, the entire group rushed over to him on the double!
The severely wounded man that they had called “boss” coughed weakly and pointed suddenly toward Song Wenxin, who had stood rooted to the floor by the side of the room, not daring to speak.
Interpreting their boss’ instruction, two men walked over, caught hold of Song Wenxin, and brought her to face him!

When he extended his hand suddenly toward her, she almost collapsed with fear.
Her neck… suddenly, she felt a sharp pain on her neck.
Song Wenxin turned around and saw that the silver necklace that she had been wearing was now sitting in his palm.
“You…” Now, why would he snatch her necklace?
“I will always repay my debts. This is proof!” He would repay her kindness!
In that instant, a heavy gold chain was secured around her neck.
By the time she had dared open her eyes to look at him, he was already being supported by his men and preparing to leave the scene.

The men filed out of the house quickly; so swiftly, it was as though they had never been there.
Bewildered, Song Wenxin stood in the same spot for a very long time.
She looked down at the thick gold chain hanging around her neck and noticed that a ring, adorned with some strange carving, had been strung on the chain.

The scene was in A City, at a luxurious villa built halfway up a hill. This was a neighborhood where only the ultra-rich and famous people could afford to live!
It was late at night.
A black sports car turned into the dimly lit driveway of one such villa.
The car stopped and a man alighted.
He was clad in a black jacket, and his shoes were a glossy black.
Exuding charm, he was strikingly good looking, but his dark eyes, while radiating intelligence, appeared cold and unfriendly.
The entire villa was enveloped in silence, interrupted only by the sound of the man’s leather shoes striding across the floorboards.
“Welcome back, sir,” a servant greeted respectfully, adding, “Dinner will be served shortly.”
The man pursed his thin lips in acknowledgment, his entire persona imparting an uninvitingly cold detachment.
He took big strides up the stairs to the second level, heading toward his bedroom.
Opening the door to his bedroom, he stepped inside.
Immediately, his demeanor changed, his aloof face taking on an expression of distaste.
His brows puckered up slightly.
There was a scent… a strange, unfamiliar smell in the room.
It was the scent that emanated from a person. Or, more accurately, the scent of a woman.
The man’s face turned cold instantly as he bellowed, “What is the meaning of this?” It was a question that commanded an immediate response.
“I-It was President Zhou… H-He said this was a present for you…” Hearing his angry voice, the servant had scurried into the room, pale-faced and trembling with fear.
“Throw it out!” he ordered immediately in a voice that invited no argument, his thin, alluring lips barely moving.
