Chapter 22: Beast Tide!

It was already late in the morning.

Xu Hang was still asleep. He got too excited last night. As a result, he overslept.

“My Master is still resting. Please wait a moment,” said Shadow respectfully to a beautiful woman.

They were outside the castle gates.

The woman was Zhao Qing Er, who had previously offered to help Xu Hang.

Last night, Zhao Qing Er checked the ranking list.

“Is this kid looking for death? He only has 30 combat power points and is still ranked last.”

Zhao Qing Er had a kind heart.

After being transmigrated, she did not have many friends. She had tried to make friends. A man was ready to form an alliance with her but at the last moment, he backed out and chose to team up with a naked woman instead. The incident had caused her to completely lose her desire to socialize.

However, she felt a surge of protectiveness towards this idiot who had not developed his army.

Therefore, even though Xu Hang did not request it, she decided to bring a portion of her soldiers to aid him.

When she arrived at Xu Hang’s territory, Zhao Qing Er was scared out of her wits.

Zhao Qing Er almost thought that she had transmigrated again!

However, she had to wait until noon because Xu Hang overslept!

“What kind of person is he? The Beast Tide is happening soon. How could he sleep so soundly? Maybe I should leave…”

Zhao Qing Er sat under a tree by the river. She continued to scold Xu Hang fiercely in her heart.

At this moment, Xu Hang was lazily rolling on his bed. He stretched his body.

Then, he had a sudden realization that the sun was already shining high up in the sky. He immediately sat up.

“Shadow, have the beasts attacked?” Xu Hang asked anxiously.

“No, Master. However, a woman called Zhao Qing Er has come to look for you.”

“Why does this name sound so familiar?”

Xu Hang, who had just woken up, was still in a daze.

He jogged his memory and remembered the beautiful woman who had once offered to help him.

“Where is she?”

“Master, because you were still asleep, I have requested her to wait outside the castle gates,” replied Shadow respectfully.

Xu Hang became speechless after hearing his words.

A beautiful woman who had offered to help him was made to wait outside for the entire morning.

“That’s too rude! Quickly apologize and invite her inside!”

As Xu Hang spoke, he hurriedly put on his clothes.

Shadow replied a simple “yes” and immediately did as he was told.

Just as Xu Hang ran to the castle gates, he saw a wave of black shadows approaching the moat!

They were coming at a very high speed, only slightly slower than the magic four-wheeled car!

Was it the Beast Tide?

The shadows had even covered the sky and sun!

Zhao Qing Er had also noticed the wave of shadows.

Her army could not face them head-on. They needed to seek shelter in Xu Hang’s castle as soon as possible.

“The Beast Tide is coming. Let us in or everyone is going to die!”

“No, without our Master’s permission, no one can come in!”

“How can you be so pedantic at this crucial moment?! Yun, go and save that farmer on the other side of the river. He’s still farming!”

“Yes, Master.”

A valiant-looking level 5 soldier along with ten level 4 soldiers rushed towards the level 15 farmer.

A magical beast ran past the farmer but he pretended not to see it.

It stepped on the sapling of a fruit tree that the farmer had just planted.

Zhao Qing Er and her soldiers looked as the farmer raised his head. His eyes were filled with fury. He took out the alloy battle axe and charged at the beast, hacking it into two!

“He really was depending on his farmers.”

Upon a closer look, Zhao Qing Er saw that the farmer was actually wearing a soft armor made of metal.

This singular farmer had managed to successfully block a bunch of beasts from going near the drawbridge.

He was a one-man army!

The scene was really shocking.

“Miss Qing Er, please forgive my subordinates for being reckless. They did not mean to offend you. They’re just loyal to me. Please come in and have a seat,” said Xu Hang who was coming from behind.

Zhao Qing Er did not have any option but to enter Xu Hang’s territory.

Meanwhile, the farmer began to kill the beasts that were heading to the castle gates.

Zhao Qing Er noticed that all of Xu Hang’s men had calm expressions on their faces as if they were confident that they could kill the beasts with a single strike.

‘What terrifying strength! To think that I was trying to help him. How foolish of me!’

They slowly walked and entered the castle.

Xu Hang suddenly turned around and whispered to his subordinates, “If you have nothing to do, then go out and kill some beasts for experience, especially the two of you[1]. Also, go test out the power of the catapults.”

‘Catapults?’

Zhao Qing Er looked around the castle. She saw ten catapults that were as tall as four-story buildings shining under the sunlight.

An alloy boulder was placed in each of the catapults. Once the rope was pulled, the alloy boulder bounced up high into the sky. It looked like a meteorite!

There were ten of such meteorites!
