Chapter 22: Found a Way!

“I want to, but I can’t. Not unless you have a way to prolong the time you keep your legs.”

I was annoyed because he knew exactly where the problem was and still thought I didn’t want to take him.

“Can you not go, then?” Dacia looked at me expectantly.

“I’d better make a trip. Daniel is my superior. If I refuse his invitation, he may be unhappy. It could affect my work.”

I tried to sound calm and gentle to not give Dacia the impression that I was quibbling.

“So you’re going to ditch me for work?” Dacia looked hurt.

“That’s not what I meant. Can you calm down and think about it for me?” I raised my voice, deepening the conflict between us.

“I won’t let you leave me alone!” Dacia decided to throw a tantrum.

Seeing his attitude, my temper flared. “Then I’ll tell you, too. I’m going to Daniel’s tonight no matter what.”

“Are you throwing a tantrum at me?” Dacia’s tone grew more serious.

“You’re the one who’s throwing a tantrum!” I retorted. “It’s my freedom to eat at his house!”

“But I suspect that Daniel likes you!”

I froze when Dacia finished. I hadn’t told him about Daniel. How could he feel the same way I did?

“You… why do you feel this way?” I asked subconsciously.

“I don’t know. Don’t you feel that way?” Dacia shot back.

I couldn’t speak for a moment, and all my anger was gone.

“I don’t know…” Finally, I confessed my feelings.

“Did something happen between the two of you at work that shouldn’t have?” Dacia calmed down and sat next to me.

I nodded and told him everything that had happened in Daniel’s office that day.

“He’s trying to seduce you!” Dacia said firmly.

“You’re right,” I blurted out before I blushed. My answer seemed narcissistic.

“So if you have to go, I have to go with you. That’s the only way to dispel his fantasies about you,” Dacia took the opportunity to convince me.

I was a little distressed. “What if you’re dehydrated?”

“It’s only morning. We have all day to find a way,” Dacia suggested.

“Sure, but if you can’t find a suitable method, you have to agree to let me go alone.” I also made a condition.

“Okay,” Dacia agreed.

After breakfast, we began our search for a way to prolong Dacia’s dehydration.

Drinking more water was obviously not enough. It was useless even if his stomach burst.

We started studying the map of Daniel’s house again to find places around his house that we could use for emergencies, like hotels, pools, etc.

Daniel lived in an upscale neighborhood surrounded by residential buildings. There was a gym, but it wasn’t equipped with a pool.

The nearest hotel was five kilometers away from his house. It was unrealistic to make a trip to the hotel halfway through the meal.

“You can only use their bathroom,” I said in distress. “If you use water to wash your arms, cheeks, and other body parts when you feel uncomfortable, will it work?”

“I haven’t tried yet,” Dacia replied.

“Then try it,” I suggested.

Then we began to wait quietly for him to act up.

After about twenty minutes, the back of his hand began to grow spots, and his expression became pained.

“Go to the bathroom!” I said.

He nodded and left alone.

I couldn’t follow. If this was Daniel’s house, it would be kind of weird for two people to go to the bathroom together.

After a few minutes, a muffled sound came from the bathroom.

Startled, I immediately got up to check.

When I opened the bathroom door, I was surprised to see Dacia sitting on the floor soaking wet. His legs had turned into fishtails, and his arms and face were covered in spots.

“Get into the bath!” I shouted and helped him up.

He used the last of his strength to press my head down and kiss me.

“Mmm…” I struggled, but I couldn’t win against him.

I could feel him desperately sucking my saliva. I was stunned. Did he think that exchanging body fluids would prolong his dehydration?

Gradually, the pain on Dacia’s face disappeared.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the spots on his body fade and his fishtail revert to his legs.

He finally stopped kissing me, but I felt very thirsty and my voice was hoarse when I spoke.

“How are you feeling?”

“It’s okay. It’s not that bad, and it’s not very comfortable.” Dacia struggled to his feet.

He eagerly took off his clothes and entered the bathtub. His legs turned into fish tails again.

“This method seems to work,” I said while taking a sip of water from the hose.

The water tasted strange. It didn’t feel quite the same as when I’d been drinking it.

To be exact, it was a little awful. I felt that there was a detestable chemical in it.

“We’ll try again later,” Dacia said.

I nodded. This meant that I needed to drink more water!
