His men were rough, they caught the store owner’s gambling-addicted husband at an underground gambling den, then dragged him to an uninhabited condemned house, beat him up, and slowly interrogated him until he confessed everything.

The results of the interrogation were quite interesting.

It turned out Violet Nelson had bribed the store owner’s wife well in advance.

After thinking about it, Alexander concluded that an acquittal might be good after all, since Violet Nelson had completely alienated those in the Presidential Palace.
