Jasmine didn’t miss her home country that much; it was just that she craved some spicy hot pot.

It was Saturday today, and the night was crowded. She had the rare day off and had not taken the time to properly visit this place.

The streets swarmed with people, noisy and lively.

Jasmine walked aimlessly down the street, looking around in a daze.

There weren’t many people like her out alone; she wandered, looking for a hot pot restaurant.

As she walked along the roadside, she saw some interesting trinkets and casually bought some.

The early winter streets were already cold, and wrapping up in a scarf wasn’t enough to fend off the chill.

This street had everything, evoking a feeling of the old country and hometown nostalgia.

Jasmine didn’t have much of a longing for Landon; she simply wanted to eat hot pot.

Finally, she found a restaurant and chose a seat by the window.

The place was crowded, and Jasmine put a rabbit stuffed animal she’d bought on the seat opposite her.

She ordered a very spicy hot pot and a few bottles of beer.

Jasmine, unfocused and thoughtless, quietly ate her hot pot, relishing the long-missed spiciness.

This intense spiciness could numb the taste buds and, at the same time, soothe the nerves.

Sitting by the window, she could see the street scene outside–fireworks were set off not far away, and under the lights, winter lost its chill and gained warmth.

She was the only one in the restaurant eating hot pot alone, occasionally receiving curious glances.

It was too spicy, and Jasmine’s tears began to flow.

She opened a bottle of beer and poured it into a glass to drink.

“I saw it got colder in Cakago, did you put on enough clothes? Don’t catch a cold again. The doctor said you’re frail and can’t withstand much.”

“The doctor fooled you.”

Yukon laughed, “The doctor didn’t fool me, but you seem to be quite the charmer. Where are you?”

“I’m… eating soup dumplings outside,” Jasmine made up an excuse.

Just then, she saw a soup dumpling shop right across from her.

Yukon laughed even harder.

“What are you laughing at?” Jasmine was puzzled. “Soup dumplings… aren’t tasty?”

“You really do know how to charm people–that much is true.”

“I’m not,” Jasmine quickly tried to cover it up, “I really am eating soup dumplings, I can take a photo for you.”

After all, he was in Old York; he wouldn’t know if she had lied to him.

“Do the soup dumplings taste good?”

“They’re delicious, you bite into them and there’s soup, and then you bite again and there’s the skin,” Jasmine smiled as she spoke.

“Which tastes better, the soup dumplings or the hot pot?”

Huh?

Jasmine heard a noisy sound from the other end of his phone; he seemed to be walking.

“I… you?” Jasmine became inarticulate.

In her left hand, she still held a skewer of little sausages.

“The charming little liar, look up, to your left,” Yukon’s clear voice slowly rang out.

Jasmine was startled, and she hurriedly looked up.
