“This won’t do, we can’t keep going like this,” noticed Noland, observing the distance between the Black Tridents and him slowly decrease. In just three or four more minutes, he would be caught.

“I’ve got to think of something fast…”

Noland quickly said in his mind:

“Heart of Magic, look up spells that can be used while in a quantum leap.”

“What?! The Wizard’s Plane Core hasn’t developed any spells that can be used during a quantum leap?!”

Noland cursed his luck.

He looked back, and those Black Tridents were getting closer!

In this impending crisis, Noland’s mind raced, and he thought of a potentially viable self-rescue plan!

“I nearly forgot about the Escape Core of the Plane! It’s most proficient in escaping and breaking through! As long as it’s willing to help, I can definitely shake off these pursuers!”

Noland activated the Soul Mark that was left on him after he had made a soul contract with the Escape Core of the Plane.

His soul gazed far off, its sight piercing through the white light barrier of the quantum leap channel, aiming straight at the infinite starry sky.

Noland forced himself to calm down, focusing entirely on sensing the Barren Universe millions of lightyears away.

The faint soul connection was rapidly strengthened by his efforts and soon reached a level where communication was possible.

“Help me!” Noland was succinct and to the point, immediately calling out loud for assistance as soon as he made soul contact.

“What’s wrong?”

The voice of “Escape” came from afar.

A gaze at the same time penetrated the spatial obstruction and landed on Noland, then it moved beyond him to notice the Black Tridents closely following him, as well as the Mosaic Round Door far behind in the quantum leap channel.

“Eh?! How did you run into ‘Void Spears’? Why are these ‘Void Spears’ so powerful?!”

“Escape” yelped a few times and spoke more rapidly:

“Keep up the high-speed quantum leap, don’t stop! Give me some time, I will break your quantum leap channel and block those ‘Void Spears’.”

Void Spears… those Black Tridents were called that, seemingly nefarious products of the Extraterrestrial Eternity’s Void Faction.

While keeping an eye on what was happening behind, Noland channeled Soul Energy into the Snow-winged Cat.

Kitty, dragging a large human being while fleeing, was bound to run out of Soul Energy sooner or later.

The only thing Noland could do was to keep channeling Soul Energy into it to maintain the state of high-speed quantum leap.

It was impossible to measure distance within the quantum leap channel, so they could only use their eyesight to gauge how far they were from the enemy.

When the images of the Void Spears in Noland’s eyes grew ten times larger, the white light barrier of the quantum leap channel suddenly flickered at a high frequency and was filled with many glass-like cracks.

“Protect yourself!”

The Escape Core of the Plane shouted a warning through Soul Perception.

The next second, the quantum leap channel behind Noland abruptly bent, forcibly torn into two segments by an invisible force.

A violent spatial hurricane gushed from the split in the channel, wrapping around Noland and the Snow-winged Cat in an instant.

A sensation of the world spinning overwhelmed Noland, and he only saw a whirl of colors, with luminous explosions of light.

The Snow-winged Cat was hit by the spatial gale, and in a moment of panic, it accidentally let go of Noland’s collar, meowing anxiously.

But Noland had already been swept away like a solitary sail in a tempest, no longer knowing where he ended up.
