-chan: A common suffix among people you’re close with, mostly used for feminine nicknames and girls, since it’s cutesy and childlike.
-senpai: A common suffix and noun used to address or refer to one’s older or more senior colleagues in a school, workplace, dojo, or sports club.
-sensei: A suffix and noun that literally means teacher.

A teacher calling you in and giving you a sermon in the staff room. Probably every student has experienced this at least once… Is this an expected bias against students, perhaps?

Either way, I think I’m the only one who would be in that situation on the very first day of school.

I was made to kneel in front of Hiiragi-sensei, my homeroom teacher.

“Well then, do you know why you were called here, Aizawa?”

“…”

She sat in her chair, legs crossed while looking down at me. The rolled-up piece of paper rhythmically being thumped onto her hand only intimidated me further. Her look was deadly, and definitely not something you’d direct at a student.

Why? I’m sure it was because of what I did in her homeroom class.

Maybe she’s still angry I rejected her back then. Anyone would be embarrassed to be turned down in front of so many people, namely all those students around. Yeah, I did something very bad.

“… Sorry, teacher. It’s true I do regret refusing your flirting as I did, so I should’ve chosen my words a little better.”

“—?!” The teachers around us all widened their eyes, mouths gaping in sheer shock.

Hiiragi-sensei then told them it was wrong, and put the situation to rest. “… That’s the thing, Aizawa. I knew you just didn’t get it…”

“You don’t want to be my girlfriend or anything like that?”

“No! I don’t!”

If it’s not that, then what is it?

Asking about hobbies and what they like to do is standard at one of those ‘blind dates’ or at parties. I’d seen it on TV before, after all. At the end of the program, men and women would start dating just like that, so I just assumed she wanted to do the same with me.

… Well, she’s my teacher and I’m her student, so it’s not a good look from anyone around us.

In hindsight, this forbidden love between student and teacher is a purely fictional thing. If they actually crossed the line, both wouldn’t be able to continue at school. It wasn’t a realistic thing to happen.

“Then, if you don’t wanna date me…”

“… You’re thinking of something weird again.”

Not dating, but a relationship between a man and a woman… Huh, no way!

In front of me stood a teacher that’d give off a murderous vibe to the students. After a bit of thinking, I still couldn’t think of anything else, so I said the only thing that came to mind.

“Sexfr—!” She smacked me on the head with that rolled-up notebook she was holding. The thump was loud, and soon childish giggles echoed throughout the staff room, though they all looked away quickly.
