Miao Dong couldn’t care less who this person was. As if she was clutching at the last life-saving straw, she stood up with all her might and held the door. “It’s me! I’m Miao Dong. Let me out quickly!”

“Alright, don’t be afraid.” That person’s voice was as gentle as the moon. In the dark night, it turned into a beam of white moonlight that enveloped Miao Dong, dispelling the endless darkness for her.

When the door opened, he stood against the light, isolating the light from the darkness. He reached out a hand of hope to her. The sense of salvation in that moment moved Miao Dong.

She forgot her fear, forgot Zhou Feng’s persona, forgot everything. She threw herself into his arms without hesitation and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. As she cried, her tears slid into his collar.

Zhou Feng was stunned for a moment. He patted Miao Dong’s back and comforted her carefully. “It’s alright. Don’t be afraid.”

Miao Dong slowly calmed down and suddenly realized that the person she was hugging was Zhou Feng. She let go awkwardly and took a step back. “You… why are you here?”
