Chapter 45: Does Chu Xiao Xi’s Brother have a Girlfriend?

Chu Xiao Xi was dizzy from how busy she was. Ever since she got home, she never left the study room and phone calls never stopped either.

After Gu Xiao Xiao helped her out a little, she left the study room and brought Shen Qian Yun upstairs.

“What do Xiao Xi’s parents do?” while sitting on the bed, Shen Qian Yun asked tentatively.

“I am not too sure. I just know they don’t live in this country.” Xiao Xiao knew what Shen Qian Yun was worried about and explained, “Grandma, don’t worry. You have taught me since I was young to not take advantage of others. I remember all that.”

“As long as you remember.” Shen Qian Yun nodded. After putting away her belongings, she went to cook for them.

The train departed at 12 and arrived in City B at 4:30. By the time they got back to Chu Xiao Xi’s place, it was nearly 6.

Gu Xiao Xiao assisted Shen Qian Yun with cooking and the two listened to Chu Xiao Xi’s occasional cries from the study room. They didn’t know whether they should laugh or cry.

By 7, food was on the table. Chu Xiao Xi came out of the study with her head tilted. Only after seeing the delicious food on the table did her expression recover a little.

Sitting in a chair, Chu Xiao Xi suddenly remembered something. She looked over to Shen Qian Yun and asked mysteriously, “Grandma, do you mind if one more person joins us at the table.”

“You kid! It’s your house. Why would I mind?”

“Then… I’ll call over my brother for dinner?” Gu Xiao Xiao kicked Chu Xiao Xi under the table right after she made this announcement.

Gu Xiao Xiao had no plans to introduce Chu Yi Chen to Shen Qian Yun so quickly. But after Chu Xiao Xi’s suggestion, her plans were destroyed.

Chu Xiao Xi called Chu Yi Chen’s cell and before long, the door rang. Gu Xiao Xiao unwillingly went to open the door for him and then quickly returned to the dinner table. She continued eating without another sound.

Chu Yi Chen had just come back from work. He put down his bag and took off his jacket. Wearing only a dress shirt, he rolled up his sleeves and sat beside Chu Xiao Xi.

Shen Qian Yun’s eyes brightened at the sight of Chu Yi Chen.

“You are Xiao Xi’s brother? What’s your name?” She asked first.

“Hi grandma, I am Chu Yi Chen.”

Chu Yi Chen… Shen Qian Yun thought about it. When Xiao Xiao went home that day, the name displayed on her cell when someone called, had this name.

Grinning, Shen Qian Yun didn’t say anymore. Inside, she had already guessed there were secrets between these kids.

Gu Xiao Xiao ate this meal nervously and anxiously. She didn’t know why she was so scared. They were merely meeting each other over a meal, but why was she so scared? Was she scared that grandma would find the marriage certificate in her room? Or that grandma wouldn’t like Chu Yi Chen or accept their ridiculous marriage?

After finishing the meal, Chu Yi Chen chatted with Shen Qian Yun for a bit and then left. After he left, Gu Xiao Xiao sighed in relief.

After their meal, Gu Xiao Xiao sat on the couch with Shen Qian Yun and watched TV. She sat there with her legs crossed and happily ate her oranges.

“Xiao Xiao, does Xiao Xi’s brother have a girlfriend yet?” Shen Qian Yun’s sudden question made Gu Xiao Xiao choke on the piece of orange she just stuffed in her mouth.

Her entire cheeks were now red and it took her a long time to recover. She looked over to Shen Qian Yun.

“Why are you suddenly mentioning him…”

Gu Xiao Xiao’s reaction told Shen Qian Yun there was a story there.

“The person who was walking with Mu Yun Fan today is his new girlfriend right?” Shen Qian Yun continued asking without batting an eye. After Gu Xiao Xiao nodded, she smiled. “That kid is losing his eyesight. How is that girl even comparable to our Xiao Xiao?”
