Chapter 334: 333 A small disturbance
“Clang!”
Dazzling Holy Light began to flicker more and more frequently and intensely around the Foxman Saintess’s body, ultimately transforming into a curtain of light that unfolded around the young fox girl.
The surrounding Beastmen watched this scene, both protecting the Foxman Saintess and vigilantly scanning the area, their faces filled with tension.
This was because the “Prayer” the Foxman Saintess was using was not to be casually invoked. Not only would it leave her considerably weakened, but it might also lead to a variety of side effects.
There was no choice; the “Prayer” borrowed the power of the Life Goddess from among the Three Great Goddesses. Without possessing the Life Goddess’s Blessing, the use of this “Prayer” was bound to cause some problems.
Though the Foxman Saintess was the Holy Daughter of the Beastman Race, she herself did not receive the Blessing of the Life Goddess.
The blessings of the Three Great Goddesses level were legendary benedictions that only heroes were said to possess. In the history of Omni Potanssen, those who had received the Blessings of the Three Great Goddesses could be counted on one hand. Despite her special status and the Beastman Race revering the Life Goddess, only the ancestors of the Foxman Clan had once received the Life Goddess’s Blessing. The modern-day Foxman Saintess was not yet qualified to receive a blessing of that caliber.
Therefore, even though the Foxman Saintess was capable of using this method of “Prayer” to temporarily borrow the power of the Life Goddess, the lack of a Blessing to aid her meant every use would greatly damage her vitality and cause side effects, thus causing the Beastmen to be so anxious.
If it wasn’t for this, the Foxman Saintess would have used “Prayer” much earlier to search for the target they had long been seeking.
Now, she still had to resort to this method; one could only say that it was all by the will of heaven.
Under these circumstances, the Foxman Saintess did not open her eyes, yet it seemed as though she saw a scene through the light curtain.
It was…
“Dragons?”
Yes, the Foxman Saintess saw a dragon.
A fearsome, vicious Black Dragon flying through the skies, soaring through the heavens with commanding presence.
With the power of the Life Goddess, the Foxman Saintess could feel the terrifying life force of the dragon and knew that it was no ordinary dragon.
It might very well be one of the highest ranks within the Dragon Race.
Yet, on the back of such a dragon, sat several people.
Among these people, most were young girls: one a little girl hugging a pillow, one a very beautiful maid, and another was the very target of the Foxman Saintess’s journey.
She had found them!
This thought arose in the heart of the Foxman Saintess, but there was not the slightest bit of joy.
Through the power of the Life Goddess, she sensed that something terrifying was present within the beautiful maid, a dark life force seeping out, and the little girl holding the pillow was even more frightening. Her life force was like a natural disaster, a volcano on the verge of eruption, the tiny body hiding an astoundingly formidable power that filled the Foxman Saintess with dread.
And when the Foxman Saintess shifted her gaze to the last person on the dragon’s back–a seemingly ordinary man–her head suddenly exploded with a bang.
“Boom!”
In that instant, the light curtain surrounding the Foxman Saintess shattered.
“Aah!”
The Foxman Saintess let out a pained cry as blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, her entire body collapsing.
“Holy Daughter!”
“Holy Daughter!”
The surrounding Beastmen were immediately struck with panic.
Unbeknownst to them, this incident had caused a minor disturbance in the Divine World.
…
Inside a majestic Temple in the Divine World, Nien, who was alone, seemed to sense something and lifted her head.
“Has a Goddess used her Authority to spy upon Shane?”
Nien appeared to understand something and curled her lip.
“Such wishful thinking.”
How could there be a second Goddess capable of spying on that Hero apart from herself?
“With that woman’s Blessing, Shane not only receives protection from the world itself but also avoids direct interference from any Divine Race’s Authorities. Except for me, who has a fundamental and primordial connection with him, no one else could interfere with him using Authority.”
To this day, Shane had yet to fully understand what effects the Supreme God’s Blessing had.
However, he was unaware that those effects were already taking place in the background.
Protected by the world.
Applicable only to the Divine Race, under any conditions.
Interference avoidable, exclusively by the Divine Race.
Activation possible, solely for the Divine Race’s domains.
Enhancement applicable, strictly for the Divine Race’s effects.
These effects, at first glance perplexing to the point Shane couldn’t grasp them, did not mean they were ineffective.
Now, one of the effects of Shane’s Blessing had manifested.
Interference avoidable, exclusively by the Divine Race.
As Nien said, the Authorities of the Divine Race couldn’t interfere with Shane.
Unless it was a positive effect–that is, an intervention that would help Shane.
For instance, the revelation brought by Luoqi’s Blessing was considered indirect help and thus, could affect Shane.
The reason, naturally, was because of another effect–enhancement applicable, strictly for the Divine Race’s effects.
But if it were negative effects–interventions that could bring harm to Shane–such interference would naturally be avoided by the Supreme God’s Blessing, or even crushed on the spot.
Under these circumstances, the only Authorities that could affect Shane, who possessed the Supreme God’s Blessing, were positive ones or those of the Supreme God Ominis herself.
Nien considered her special connection with Shane the sole reason she could influence him to a certain extent, summoning him to the temple or reading his thoughts and memories.
The other goddesses…
“Just focus on your own believers and stop plotting around my hero,” Nien said, though she knew well that after this incident, Shane would likely have caught the attention of the Divine Race.
Yet, Nien wasn’t the least bit worried.
With Shane’s current abilities, combined with the immunity to Divine Race interference granted by the “Supreme God’s Blessing,” ordinary goddesses stood no chance against him.
Even for the Three Great Goddesses, whose authority couldn’t affect Shane, and who could only rely on their raw combat prowess, whether they could defeat Shane, who possessed the strongest Holy Sword, remained an uncertainty.
“Granted, that guy unsealing the Holy Sword in front of the Divine Race is troublesome, but with the Dragon Demon there, they wouldn’t dare to do much, right?”
So, frankly speaking, even the Three Great Goddesses would find it difficult to touch Shane now.
“Only a true Goddess, that is, Supreme God Ominis herself, can restrain a hero.”
Only when facing Ominis would Shane truly be in trouble.
With the most powerful Holy Sword at his disposal, Nien believed that in this world, the only one who could potentially end Shane’s life was the Supreme God Ominis.
Wouldn’t even the Six Great Demons find the sword a thorny issue?
Of course, should Shane grow to his limits, perhaps even the Six Great Demons could only bow to him.
While still unseasoned, there were still a few out there who posed a threat to Shane, but with the Holy Sword, firing on all cylinders, even facing the Six Great Demons, Shane would likely escape unscathed should defeat seem imminent, and when it came to the Divine Race, given their inability to affect him with authority, unsealing the Holy Sword would leave even the Three Great Goddesses at a disadvantage.
With the Supreme God Ominis now in deep sleep, in the Divine Race, only one could pose a threat to Shane.
This individual was currently the ace of the Divine Race, even the strongest in the Three Realms, second only to the Demon King and the Supreme God; Shane, not yet fully grown, would encounter quite the difficulty against her.
But this time, she probably wouldn’t be the one taking action.
“I just wonder what her expression would be when she finds out that both the Blessings she dotes on are now drawn to my hero,” Nien mused with a playful laugh.
The beings that managed to receive blessings of the Goddess-level Three Great Goddesses had always been extremely rare throughout history, mostly bestowed to heroes as a special privilege.
Hence, the Three Great Goddesses treasured those beings blessed by them, as they represented excellence scarce in the world, cherished and adored like their own children.
Furthermore, those blessed by the Three Great Goddesses were seen as their spokespersons, earning respect from the Divine Race.
Why was Luoqi so adored by the Divine Race?
There were two reasons.
One was because of the uniqueness of Luoqi’s Unique Skill, which led the members of the Divine Race to regard her as one of their own.
The other was because Luoqi had received a blessing from one of the Three Great Goddesses, and the Blessing was from the ace of the Divine Race, the strongest in the Three Realms.
That mightiest being was especially doting and affectionate towards Luoqi, leaving one to wonder what she might think of Shane.
“That princess even took my hero’s first time; how infuriating,” Nien grimaced as her smile faded.
Ah, she was still holding a grudge about that.
“Next time… next time it will surely be me…!”
With reluctance, Nien could only open a screen and once again start studying the “knowledge” from Shane’s mind.
…
Meanwhile, in another temple within the Divine World, a goddess, who had been playing the harp and singing, suddenly stopped her music.
“My power has been nullified?”
The goddess showed a look of surprise, her face pensive.
Beside her, a black-haired girl with a weary expression spoke up.
“Goddess Anima, surely it’s time to let me go?”
The girl sounded as if she had endured great hardship, her tone saturated with weariness and sorrow.
Upon closer inspection, this girl bore an exact resemblance to Lasha.
“Let you go?”
The goddess addressed as Anima let out a soft laugh.
“You, a lowly member of the Demon Clan, dared to intrude into the Divine World, even into my temple, and I didn’t eliminate you on the spot, which is already quite merciful. How dare you harbor any complaints?”
At this, the girl’s face showed nothing but weariness and sorrow, seemingly filled with regret.
Anima laughed lightly, shaking her head before finally speaking.
“Well, your punishment has been sufficient. Come with me to the Human Realm, and then you’ll be free.”
At first, the girl’s face lit up at these words, but then she looked puzzled.
“You’re going to the Human Realm?”
The girl was surprised.
“Yes.” Anima finally sobered up, murmuring, “Given the recent events, I cannot stand by idly. Now that a being capable of neutralizing my power has emerged, it signifies an unexpected twist in matters. The priests of the Beastman Race alone may not be up to the task.”
With that, Anima stood and raised her head.
Looking up, one could see that Anima’s pure and delicate face was framed by eyes that were tightly shut.
“I’ll make a rare personal visit, then.”
