“–Laro?”

Aleister blurted out.

Seeing the surprise on the dog’s face, Aleister said with a smile, “So it really is you.”

“…You’re no fun.”

Laro shook his head, his tone suddenly sad and with a melodious cadence: “You could at least have waited for Old Laro to slip up more before guessing, it makes me sad–you make me feel like I really do look like a dog.”

“Because you’re interesting, Laro!”

Aleister laughed, “Out of all these people, you’re the most amusing! That woman… must be the Monarch you’re sheltering, right? Are you coming to me with the intent to finish the game together?”

Unlike the Old Mage–the first person to come to Aleister was almost certainly doomed, but the second was almost certainly not going to die.

“…It seems you know me?”

Upon hearing this, Aleister finally realized where the incongruity in Laro’s attitude towards her lay.

Laro harbored much hatred towards both Sons of the Moon and Demon Scholars, but he showed no animosity towards Aleister, who was both a Son of the Moon and a Transcender. Old Laro raised his dog head, wagging his tail and howling in oath, making pitiful sounds: “Without them, Stibnite would probably be in total chaos now! Although Old Laro doesn’t really like Order, even the worst Order is better than true chaos… Don’t you agree?”
